2. INTRODUCTION.
My idea for my extended project is to create an advert for some sort of cosmetics, this would
mean that i would have to get permission from the owners of the brand to be able to advertise it.
My idea was to do a photo-shoot as well as making the actual advert, i was also thinking that i could
make a magazine ad to promote my chosen product further. However problems could come about
with this idea as it will be hard for me to find a company willing to let me advertise their products.

3. DEVELOPMENT
My work has developed through research of editorial and cosmetics photo-shoots also i have looked
at different adverts for different types of cosmetics such as hair products and make-up. This has given
me a lot of inspiration for my extended project, as it has shown me how to present my ideas in a
clear and bold way and how to make sure any of my photos or commercial are advertising the right
element. I have also looked in to brands such as gosh and barry m and am thinking about advertising
their products, i will have to email them to get confirmation. However if this does not go to the plan
then i will have to think about looking at smaller cosmetic brands. Throughout my research i have
came across the book “ The Fashion Photography Course”, i think this will come as a big use to me as
it has loads of tips on how to edit photos on photoshop to make them look a higher quality, for an
example it tells you how to give someone a “natural glow” which i think ties in well with the type
industry cosmetics comes in to.

4. WHERE MY PROJECT IS NOW.
At the moment i am looking in to the more photography side to my project and thinking about
who i could use for my models, i have also been taking some test photographs to see how i could
show different elements of cosmetics, for an example if i was advertising lipstick i could have
someone with a natural make up on however they would have a bright colored lipstick on in
which all the attention would be on the product as it would be bold and stand out.

5. WHAT AM I GOING TO DO NEXT.
My next move is to get in contact with several cosmetic companies and see what they think of my
ideas and whether they will be happy to give me permission to advertise there products, however if
it come down to it and none of the companies give me permission to go ahead with my plans for
my extended project i will have to think about making my own brand. I also am planing to look
more in to the advertising world as i need to get some ideas for my advert and see what sort of
things are said in the adverts, i also will have to think about location and how i am going to illustrate
my product in my advert.
