5. REGIONAL GOLF TOURNAMENT RESULTS
The girls golf team placed sixth out of sixteen teams this week
at the regional tournament.
Leading the way and missing going to state by four shots
was freshman Dabin Cleary carding a 152 for
her two day event.
Alicia Lehane put in a valiant effort scoring a 165 for the team.
Freshman Megan Rhoads tied for 28th out of 93 girls shooting a two day total of 169.
Also playing well and improving each day was Sydney Geckler
with 220 and Amanda Robles 241.
All girls will be returning next year
and we are expecting nothing short of
playing in the state tournament next year.

FCCLA students had state competition this past weekend in Dallas. They did an awesome job
representing Samuel Clemens High School.
• Isaac Reyna, Stephanie Cintron, and Marina Feliciano- 1st place in Promote and Publicize, these
students qualified for National Competition in Orlando, Florida this summer.
• Chris Edwards and Melissa Young- 3rd place in Life Event Planning
• Olivia De La Rosa- 4th place in Early Childhood for her math lesson on graphing.

10. Hal Baldwin Scholarship:
The City of Schertz has established the Hal
Baldwin Scholarship to encourage high
school seniors who are residents of Schertz
to consider public service as a career path.
The $2500.00 2012 scholarship honors Hal
Baldwin, civic volunteer, council
member, and Mayor. Any currently
enrolled high school senior residing in
Schertz is eligible to apply. This includes
homeschooled students. Scholarship
criteria and application is available in the
counseling office.
The deadline to apply is April 30, 2012.

Most students and parents do not realize that as few as seven questions can change an SAT score by 100
points, which can make a significant difference when applying to competitive colleges and for scholarship
monies.
Expecting 100% of our AHHS Juniors to have already registered to take the SAT and ACT at least once
before the school year ends, the following has been arranged to prepare you for the last two SAT tests this
school year:

This workshop is designed to give effective test-taking and time-management strategies that may help

available for only $45 to help students improve their test scores.

The SCUC ATPE proudly announces seven $500 scholarships!
Lurline Davis Memorial SCUC ATPE Scholarship – Open to active SCUC ATPE
paraprofessionals pursuing a degree with teacher certification or an advanced degree in the
field of education.
Bill Marthes Memorial SCUC ATPE Scholarship – Open to active SCUC ATPE educators
pursuing an advanced degree with teacher certification or an advanced degree in an
education field.
SCUC ATPE Future Educator Scholarship – Open to graduating seniors from
Clemens, Steele, and Allison Steele who are pursuing degrees with teacher certification.
Two scholarships each will be awarded to both Clemens and Steele. One scholarship will be
awarded to graduates of Allison Steele.
