IT alone consumes over 40% of energy from the average business.  And just last year… U.S. data centers alone spent an estimated 11.5 billion dollars on energy, up 3 billion dollars from 2007.
  • They wanted visibility into how much energy their devices consumed.. Specifically they wanted to look at… 10,000 switches58,000 ATM (automated teller machines) devices250,000 thin client and fat client desktops and monitors For now, let’s take a look at some of those facts I just mentioned: At present, there are approximately 15 million servers and 3 million data centers in the United States. IT alone consumes over 40% of energy from the average business.  And just last year… U.S. data centers alone spent an estimated 11.5 billion dollars on energy, up 3 billion dollars from 2007.
  • At the time, they had no ability to control the power state of these devices. So, together with Cisco EnergyWise and using JOULEX, we were able to… For now, let’s take a look at some of those facts I just mentioned: At present, there are approximately 15 million servers and 3 million data centers in the United States. IT alone consumes over 40% of energy from the average business.  And just last year… U.S. data centers alone spent an estimated 11.5 billion dollars on energy, up 3 billion dollars from 2007.
  • Measure Energy Consumption and utilization of all devices remotely over the networkForecast Energy DemandAnd also provide what we call “sustainable procurement” which is the ability to Compare the Energy Efficiency of any IP device. In this case it was Network Switching Devices Using JouleX, they identified their network energy hogs and upgraded to more energy-efficient Cisco EnergyWise equipment and controlled the energy consumption of devices. As a result of this information, the customer has implemented new energy reduction policies for their switches during low and idle utilization periods. For now, let’s take a look at some of those facts I just mentioned: At present, there are approximately 15 million servers and 3 million data centers in the United States. IT alone consumes over 40% of energy from the average business.  And just last year… U.S. data centers alone spent an estimated 11.5 billion dollars on energy, up 3 billion dollars from 2007.
  • The end result was a 50% reduction in energy costs which is about 24 MILLION Euros a year. This project has been so successful, this client now rolling our JouleX across their data centers and in its distributed enterprise environment for VoIP telephones, printers, PCs, and servers.Our solution, is so simple, that one of our other customers told us we were able to do more for them in 2 ½ HOURS what took an agent-based competitor over 2 ½ YEARS!
