> The process of attracting individuals in sufficient numbers with the

right skills and at appropriate times to apply for open positions
within the organization.

• Alternatives to recruitment:
> Outsourcing.
> Contingent labor.
> Part-time employees.
> Overtime.

• Costs of recruitment and selection:
> Replacing supervisory, technical and management personnel can

cost from 50 percent of salary to several hundred percent of salary.
• SELECTION TEST: Any instrument that is used to make a
decision about a potential employee.
• STANDARDIZATION: Uniformity of procedures and conditions
related to administering tests.
• RELIABILITY: The extent to which a selection test provides
consistent results.
• VALIDITY: The extent to which a test measures what it claims to
measure.

The satisfaction that accompanies that the successful completion of any
task would be incomplete without the mention of people whose
ceaseless cooperation made it possible, whose constant guidance and
encouragement crown all efforts with success.
We are grateful to the staff of Centre of Excellence and also the staff of
Central University of Bihar for the constant guidance, inspiration and
constructive suggestions that helped us in the preparing for this
extremely difficult task look easy.
We completed the work on time and the publication of result was
possible due to the efficiency levels of the staff and officials of our
esteemed client CUB.
PURPOSE
The purpose of on-line test for recruitment is to take online test in an
efficient manner and no time wasting for checking the paper. The main
objective of on-line test is to efficiently evaluate the candidate
thoroughly through a fully automated system that not only saves lot of
time but also gives fast results without any biasness.
For applicants they give papers according to their skill sets and
allocated time and there is no need of using paper, pen etc. saving our
forests
SCOPE OF WORK
[1]. To conduct and end-to-end examination management for
recruitment of non-teaching staff as per advertisement,
[2]. Accepting their application (by speed post)
[3]. Entering the same in an online software where in the same would be
automatically scrutinised and acceptance or rejection of application
based on pre-fixed criteria be known to the client
[4]. Officials from client in turn would cross check and see if the
automatic selection or rejection was correct in between manual
screening of the applications
[5]. Post verification data entry to be done by Centre of Excellence
“supervisors”.
[6]. SMS about the status of application in phased manner and a
confirmation SMS be sent once shortlisted based on criteria.
[7]. A window of 7 days given to applicants for grievance redressal on mail/
telephone as specified on the website of client.
[8]. The applicants would be able to check their details online
[9]. A Unique Application Registration No. (ARN) provided to them via SMS.
[10]. In case a candidate is unable to login he/she can call helpline number to
collect the required details on confirmation of certain details.
[11]. Once grievance period is over the e-Hall Tickets could be downloaded .
[12].There were certain category of applicants who were expected not to be IT
literate (viz, drivers, cooks, peon, MTS, Office attendants) for whom we sent
their “e-Hall Tickets” via speed post and also sent an SMS to them.

At the end of this module, viewers will understand the:  Methods used by our client to recruit and select employees.  Legal issues that affect recruitment and selection.  HR’s role in the recruitment and selection process.  Role of supervisors and peers in the recruitment and selection of team members.  All the above in the context of Central Government Employment
  • 4. • RECRUITMENT > The process of attracting individuals in sufficient numbers with the right skills and at appropriate times to apply for open positions within the organization. • Alternatives to recruitment: > Outsourcing. > Contingent labor. > Part-time employees. > Overtime. • Costs of recruitment and selection: > Replacing supervisory, technical and management personnel can cost from 50 percent of salary to several hundred percent of salary.
  • 5. • SELECTION TEST: Any instrument that is used to make a decision about a potential employee. • STANDARDIZATION: Uniformity of procedures and conditions related to administering tests. • RELIABILITY: The extent to which a selection test provides consistent results. • VALIDITY: The extent to which a test measures what it claims to measure.
  • 6. • Cost: > What is your recruitment budget? • Time: > What is the time frame you need to fill the positions? • Quality: > How to ensure that applicants are best qualified for the job? • Secrecy: > What about maintaining transparency with secrecy? • Partner: > How to select the best technology partner?

  • 8. PURPOSE The purpose of on-line test for recruitment is to take online test in an efficient manner and no time wasting for checking the paper. The main objective of on-line test is to efficiently evaluate the candidate thoroughly through a fully automated system that not only saves lot of time but also gives fast results without any biasness. For applicants they give papers according to their skill sets and allocated time and there is no need of using paper, pen etc. saving our forests
  • 9. SCOPE OF WORK [1]. To conduct and end-to-end examination management for recruitment of non-teaching staff as per advertisement, [2]. Accepting their application (by speed post) [3]. Entering the same in an online software where in the same would be automatically scrutinised and acceptance or rejection of application based on pre-fixed criteria be known to the client [4]. Officials from client in turn would cross check and see if the automatic selection or rejection was correct in between manual screening of the applications [5]. Post verification data entry to be done by Centre of Excellence “supervisors”. [6]. SMS about the status of application in phased manner and a confirmation SMS be sent once shortlisted based on criteria.
  • 10. [7]. A window of 7 days given to applicants for grievance redressal on mail/ telephone as specified on the website of client. [8]. The applicants would be able to check their details online [9]. A Unique Application Registration No. (ARN) provided to them via SMS. [10]. In case a candidate is unable to login he/she can call helpline number to collect the required details on confirmation of certain details. [11]. Once grievance period is over the e-Hall Tickets could be downloaded . [12].There were certain category of applicants who were expected not to be IT literate (viz, drivers, cooks, peon, MTS, Office attendants) for whom we sent their “e-Hall Tickets” via speed post and also sent an SMS to them.
