Rodney arrives late to class where his teacher, Mr. Vamping, is acting strangely. When Rodney later finds Mr. Vamping with fangs, his friends don't believe that their teacher is a vampire. Rodney then overhears Mr. Vamping and another teacher discussing revealing themselves to the class. June 3, 2024 Anti-Semitism Letter Sent to MIT President Kornbluth and MIT Cor...Levi Shapiro
Letter from the Congress of the United States regarding Anti-Semitism sent June 3rd to MIT President Sally Kornbluth, MIT Corp Chair, Mark Gorenberg
Dear Dr. Kornbluth and Mr. Gorenberg,
The US House of Representatives is deeply concerned by ongoing and pervasive acts of antisemitic
harassment and intimidation at the Massachusetts Institute of Technology (MIT). Failing to act decisively to ensure a safe learning environment for all students would be a grave dereliction of your responsibilities as President of MIT and Chair of the MIT Corporation.
This Congress will not stand idly by and allow an environment hostile to Jewish students to persist. The House believes that your institution is in violation of Title VI of the Civil Rights Act, and the inability or
unwillingness to rectify this violation through action requires accountability.
Postsecondary education is a unique opportunity for students to learn and have their ideas and beliefs challenged. However, universities receiving hundreds of millions of federal funds annually have denied
students that opportunity and have been hijacked to become venues for the promotion of terrorism, antisemitic harassment and intimidation, unlawful encampments, and in some cases, assaults and riots.
The House of Representatives will not countenance the use of federal funds to indoctrinate students into hateful, antisemitic, anti-American supporters of terrorism. Investigations into campus antisemitism by the Committee on Education and the Workforce and the Committee on Ways and Means have been expanded into a Congress-wide probe across all relevant jurisdictions to address this national crisis. The undersigned Committees will conduct oversight into the use of federal funds at MIT and its learning environment under authorities granted to each Committee.
• The Committee on Education and the Workforce has been investigating your institution since December 7, 2023. The Committee has broad jurisdiction over postsecondary education, including its compliance with Title VI of the Civil Rights Act, campus safety concerns over disruptions to the learning environment, and the awarding of federal student aid under the Higher Education Act.
• The Committee on Oversight and Accountability is investigating the sources of funding and other support flowing to groups espousing pro-Hamas propaganda and engaged in antisemitic harassment and intimidation of students. The Committee on Oversight and Accountability is the principal oversight committee of the US House of Representatives and has broad authority to investigate “any matter” at “any time” under House Rule X.
• The Committee on Ways and Means has been investigating several universities since November 15, 2023, when the Committee held a hearing entitled From Ivory Towers to Dark Corners: Investigating the Nexus Between Antisemitism, Tax-Exempt Universities, and Terror Financing. The Committee followed the hearing with letters to those institutions on January 10, 202

2. Handle of his rucksack gets caught on the door handle. The clumsy events are important as they develop the narrative and display Rodney’s character. This is logical causality explaining why his friends don’t believe him due to his clumsiness. This is a situation which sets up the narrative. Rodney arrives late to Mr Vampings history lesson as he does every morning. Every time he arrives a clumsy event happens. As Rodney enters Mr Vamping is writing the date on the board ‘Wednesday the 30th October’. As the lesson finishes Mr Vamping announces to the class there will be a special lesson the following day.
3. After lesson, Rodney returns to the classroom after realizing he has forgotten his rucksack but is distracted by his teacher crouched behind the desk. As he asks if Mr Vamping is okay his teacher spins round revealing fangs and blood dripping down his chin. A terrified Rodney screams and runs out. Plot Twist 1- Story takes an unexpected turn. Thematic Unity- Comedy when Rodney screams like a girl. Narrative development- Logical causality for why Rodney would go back to his class. Forgetful makes him unreliable.
4. Rodney runs to his ‘friends’ to inform them of what just happened but they laugh at him turn to walk away. They crowd together in a circle and mumble. Turning back round, Danny shouts to Rodney Danny- ‘Rodney! Trick or treat Rodney- huh? (Looks confused) Danny- TRICK! Danny and his friends then throw poor Rodney in the sandpit. A very upset and humiliated Rodney sulks around school; however he stumbles across Mr Vamping and Mr Drackson and decides to eavesdrop on their conversation. Mr Vamping- ‘I think Rodney is onto us’ Mr Drackson- ‘don’t worry, they will all find out soon!' (Evil laughs) Character development. Character motivation. Rodney gets rejected by friends which develops his character into becoming more independent. Character development- Moves narrative along from sad emotions to dealing with matters at hand. Motivates Rodney
5. Feeling a sudden urge of independence and courage, Rodney vows to prevent the ‘vampires’ from revealing themselves to his fellow classmates. The next day Rodney arrives late to lesson yet again with a garlic necklace around his neck and a carrot stake in his hand. Feeling heroic he marches to class but falls over a toy pumpkin laying beside the door. As he walks into class a dark, black figure wearing a cape walks into the middle of the classroom. As he pulls his cape back and roars the class gasp drowned out by Rodney's girlish screams. In the middle of the class stands Mr Vamping in a vampire costume. Mr Vamping- ‘Happy Halloween guys!’ He then announces to the class they will be having a Halloween themed lesson. Comedy- Keeps audience in tact. Solution begins Logical causality and thematic unity with vampires and gothic elements. Final solution- The whole idea was a hoax which ties up two plot points and comedy is present.
6. At the end of the lesson an embarrassed Rodney admits to Mr Vamping how his suspicions were wrong and leaves. Alone in the classroom, Mr vamping turns and takes out his fangs revealing a real pair and gives an evil laugh. Final plot twist is vital and unexpected.
