 Stripper is used to separate a 
minor component (solute) 
from liquid (solvent) which 
has absorbed it in absorber. 
 Regeneration of solvent of 
absorber 
 Suitable conditions for 
stripper

 Low pressure
Stripping Index 
 Amount of energy needed to remove/ strip out 1 lb 
mol of CO2 in the stripper 
 Calculated by applying energy balance on the 
stripper 
 Gives us an idea about efficient working of 
stripper
Refrige machine 
 Two stage compressor working in refrigeration 
loop 
 Pressurize all in taken ammonia vapors up to 
required pressure so that these can be 
condensed back into liquid routed through 
condensers

some points
