Changing Roles for Woman at Home <ul><li>Home Front : </li></ul><ul><li>In Britain, by the year of 1914, nearly around 23.8 million woman were already starting to work. </li></ul><ul><li>Women worked in jobs such as in offices, munitions factories, and knitting socks for the soldiers who were enrolled in World War I. </li></ul><ul><li>Woman had to work hard to try to support their families due to the absence of the males who were fighting in the war at the time. </li></ul><ul><li>Most women would also work as volunteering in organizations such as the Red Cross, which would led them to try to sell war bonds. </li></ul><ul><li>During this time era was when women were being viewed in a different aspect; that they were highly capable to do the same work as men. </li></ul><ul><li>This changed the outlook of the women&apos;s workplace, even though at the time women were not paid as highly as men were. </li></ul>http://www.google.com/imgres?imgurl
  • 3. <ul><li>Military Service : </li></ul><ul><li>Women spent most of their time contributing to nursing the soldiers who were in desperate need for help. During WWl. </li></ul><ul><li>WWl was the beginning of new organizations for women such as Queen Alexandra’s Royal Army Nursing Corps, First Aid Nursing Yeomanry and Voluntary Aid Detachment. </li></ul><ul><li>This era helped society realize that women were a necessity to help out during this time of horrible conditions. </li></ul>http://www.google.com/imgres
