Unshared Rights <ul><li>Women were not legally allowed to own property, vote, make contracts, and the money that they make goes directly to their husbands </li></ul><ul><li>Women made far smaller profits as compared to men doing the same amount of work </li></ul><ul><li>It was much more difficult for women to get a job compared to a man </li></ul>

The War Effort <ul><li>Women worked in munitions factories as “munitionettes” </li></ul><ul><li>They were also expected to nurse and entertain the wounded men </li></ul><ul><li>There was also a recruitment effort made by the women in which they would attempt to shame the men into joining the war by handing out white feathers to able bodied men to label them as cowardly </li></ul>
  4. 4. Women Filled the Roles of Men <ul><li>Women stayed home to support their families </li></ul><ul><li>They took on their husband’s jobs in factories </li></ul><ul><li>They began their own work as laundresses, tavern keepers and inn attendants </li></ul>
