Editor's Notes
- Ocean uses data will be gathered through a series of participatory mapping workshops. Through facilitated discussions, participants will be asked to document ocean use patterns and provide contextual information about uses on behalf of ocean use communities. Ideal workshop participants are individuals who can provide use community perspectives rather than individual use experience and those who are knowledgeable about a wide range of ocean uses due to consistent observation of the marine environment. Workshops will be held in various locations to ensure participation from a wide range of experts. Workshops are tentatively scheduled for late spring or early summer 2014, specific locations to be determined. The Hawaii Ocean Uses Atlas will be completed in partnership with BOEM, NOAA, and the State of Hawaii Office of Planning.
