  8. 8. • Phase 4 – Digital Leveling – Requires a minimum of a two mark tie at the beginning and two mark tie at the end of the level line – Equipment Check – Collimation (Peg Test or C-check) Kukkamaki, Förstner every day or when the level is jarred or long travel – Double-run leveling – Run up and run down – All data to stored on instrument and download daily and on Backup Recording Sheet – Record collimation (arc-seconds) an all important information on Backup Recording Sheet – Run the NGS Translev Software DAILY – Combine Daily Translev Processing for Completed Project • Phase 5 – Final Report – Consultant to prepare • Phase 6 - Submit Data to Hawaii DOT • DOT to submit work to NGS to be incorporated into the existing database.

Oahu Consultants 2012 to present • DOT RFP 12/2012- 01/2013 – http://spo3.hawaii.gov/notices/notices/none-91 – http://spo3.hawaii.gov/notices/notices/none-92 • Consultant selection took longer than normal. Not a normal DOT project. Lot of department employees overseeing to make sure the project is not going to have to many problems. 04/2013 • Negotiations – Only a few changes were made from the original proposal to fit a tight budget. • Fee acceptance 12/2014 • NTP July 1, 2015 • Workshop (NGS and State of Hawaii) – WinDesc – Completed in 7/2015 • Recovery and planning of survey marks – Survey disk have been ordered by the consultants and delivered to the consultants 09/2015 • Currently, both consultants are working on their Survey Plans, Quality Control Plans and Safety Plans. They should be finished by end this month, 10/2015 • Planning has taken a bit longer, should be faster in future projects. • Mark Settings (about 3-4 weeks depending on weather delays) and a leveling workshop by NGS (2-3days) • Leveling (about 3 to 5 months depending on weather delays) • Final Report. The final report will also include recommendations for future height modernization projects – 04 to 05/2016

  18. 18. • Dot is looking to keep each CORS/VRS in State (Airports, Schools, DOT maintenance yards, etc.), county property (Parks, Police stations etc.). This will help to reduce overall cost. • Consultant will look at each site to make sure the sight is acceptable (low GPS multipath, internet connection, power 24/7, etc. or has the option to recommend a new site. • Consultant will determine what type of CORS station will be used, what types of permit(s) (building, etc.,)will be required and make a construction budget for each site and determine annual cost (servers, Internet, software etc.)
