Geology is the scientific study of the all constituents of planets, their internal and external forms and processes. More precisely, it is the study of nature, structure and history of the planet. Earth is the home to all life, well known to the humankind. Geology, itself, is a major part of The Earth and atmospheric sciences, which were born as twins . The subject of geology encompasses all aspects including the composition, structure, physical properties, and history of a planets'( like Earth's) inter-related components and the processes that are shaping the features on the surface. Geologists are the scientists who study the origin, occurrence, distribution and utilities of all materials(metallic, non-metallic, inorganic, etc), minerals, rocks, sediments, soils, water, oil and all other inorganic natural resources. It is a very vast subject covering a wide spectrum of scientific principles and holding hundred and fifty plus scientific branches. This report enumerates and highlights most of them, in a nutshell, for all those who intends to know for planning their career path.

• Earth, along with the other planets, is believed to have been born 4.5 billion years ago as a solidified cloud of dust and gases left over from the creation of the Sun. • For perhaps 500 million years, the interior of Earth stayed solid and relatively cool, perhaps 2,000°F. • The main ingredients were iron and silicates, with small amounts of other elements, some of them radioactive. • As millions of years passed, energy released by radioactive decay—mostly of uranium, thorium, and potassium—gradually heated Earth, melting some of its constituents. • The iron melted before the silicates, and, being heavier, sank toward the center. • This forced up the silicates that it found there. • After many years, the iron reached the center, almost 4,000 mi deep, and began to accumulate. No eyes were around at that time to view the turmoil that must have taken place on the face of Earth—gigantic heaves and bubblings on the surface, exploding volcanoes, and flowing lava covering everything in sight. • Finally, the iron in the center accumulated as the core. Around it, a thin but fairly stable crust of solid rock formed as Earth cooled. • Depressions in the crust were natural basins in which water, rising from the interior of the planet through volcanoes and fissures, collected to form the oceans. Slowly, Earth acquired its present appearance.

Ethiopia's pursuit of the right of sea gate represents a complex and evolving issue within international law. While specific provisions of international conventions and agreements may not explicitly address Ethiopia's situation, the principles and norms they encompass provide a foundation for Ethiopia's claim. By engaging with relevant regional and international actors, Ethiopia can navigate legal frameworks and diplomatic channels to safeguard its access to the sea and advance its economic and developmental interests. Overall, owning a sea gate without conflict would require diplomatic negotiations, agreements with neighboring countries, and the establishment of mutually beneficial relationships.

This presentation outlines a final marketing report for Principles of Marketing at Pepperdine University, and reflects the findings of our strategic marketing plan for the Phillips Hue LED lightbulb. The Phillips Hue LED lightbulb gives the consumer the ability to connect their smartphone with any standard-socket indoor lighting system. Our report focused primarily on a marketing strategy targeted towards high end hotels. This report was very well received by our honorable marketing instructor, Professor Frank Sadighian. While the report content is the result of a collaborative effort with three of my classmates, I was responsible for the PowerPoint composition.

Running head: GLOBAL WARMING 1 GLOBAL WARMING 20 Global Warming (Thomas Colton) (The Name of Your School) (Name of Course) (Your Name) (Date) Global Warming Introduction Although climate change is still not accepted by everyone, most knowledgeable sources believe that there is sufficient evidence to conclude that the earth is getting warmer, and that we are already feeling the effects of climate change. For example, an article in the authoritative British Economist magazine mentioned nearly 20 years ago that all the evidence on climate change points toward global warming as the cause, and the source of that global warming is human activity ("What to do," 2000). Knowledgeable sources, such as those who write for the Economist, have come to embrace the concept of global warming dueto an overwhelming amount of supporting evidence such as that given in a series of reports by the United Nations Intergovernmental Panel on Climate Change (IPCC). One of these IPCC reports(made on the eve of the December 2000 climate change conference at the Hague) forecasted that temperatures on earth could rise by an alarming "10 degrees F" in the 21st century(as cited in MacLeod, 2009, p. 6). Other organizations engaged in climate study have even gone as far as to predict specific climate changes for different parts of the world. One of them, the US Global Change Research Program , has forecasted that Southern California's winter rains will show a very significant increase, and the amount of winter snow accumulating in the Rocky Mountain Range will show a decrease of similar proportions, "...if temperatures rise by 5 to 10 degrees [due to global warming]...."(as cited in Spotts, 2013, para. 9). In like fashion 30 leading climate scientists, in an important report to the European Union, made the astonishing claim that over the next twenty years or so, summer temperatures in the Greek Islands will become too hot for tourism, the South of Spain will literally dry up, Atlantic Salmon will no longer be found in the River Loire, and Britain and Scandinavia will suffer heavy rainfall and major flooding(as cited in MacLeod, 2009).What is most significant about the EU report for Pacific Islanders was its forecast for sea levels to rise by "8 to 12 inches" and flood many low-lying areas (as cited in MacLeod, 2009, p. 6). If the earth's climate is indeed getting warmer then Pacific Islanders must beconcerned with international efforts to reverse the effects. Global warming is occurring in all corners of the earth and it is largely due to human activity. Scientists and others who are concerned with global warming must campaign to persuade governments, industry, and individuals that global warming is really happening. Three Examples of Global Warming Global warming is a popular topic in the media today. An examination of wh ...

Running Head: IS THE THREAT OF GLOBAL WARMING REAL? IS THE THREAT OF GLOBAL WARMING REAL? 8 Is the Threat of Global Warming Real? Name Subject Teacher Date Is the Threat of Global Warming Real? The Wall Street Journal used to run an editorial in 2012 about the denial of global warming. This editorial showed that climate change was not real. However, it was written by many people who were not climate scientists themselves. One of them was Richard Lindzen, who was a global warming denier and at the same time a denier of the concept that smoking causes cancer (Prothero, 2012). With these kinds of people denying global warming and with the concrete evidence that global warming exists, the threat of global warming is real. Definition of Global Warming Global warming is defined as “the slow increase in the average temperature of the earth’s atmosphere” due to the “increased amount of heat energy striking the earth from the sun” which is trapped in the atmosphere instead of being radiated into space (WarmHeatWorldwide.org, 2018). The old term for global warming was “greenhouse effect” and the relatively new collective term is “climate change.” Evidence for Global Warming The answer to the 16 authors of the opinion editorial who denied the existence of global warming is a series of confirmed scientific evidence. One of this is a Feb. 2, 2012 confirmation of an 18-mile crack that appeared in Antarctica, and was later on confirmed to have been caused by heat (Prothero, 2012). It is interesting that this crack occurred only a few days after the editorial of the 16 authors denied the existence of global warming. Perhaps then, when one denies something, he will find all the evidence against it. However, one should understand that the final arbiter when it comes to evidence should be science, or empirical and verified information. One of the first proofs that science offers in order to prove the existence of global warming is the temperature scale from the year 0 CE. The Moberg et al. plot of 2000 years shows the temperature increase since the year 1800 and the increase has been sharp (see Figure 1 below). One should also see that the Medieval Warm Period from 900-1200 AD was nothing compared to the warming since 1800 (Prothero, 2012). Temperature ranges from 1880 to the present from three independent sources also confirm the objective existence of global warming (see Figure 2 below). Figure 1. Temperature of the earth. Source: Skeptic.com Figure 2. Temperature of the earth from 3 sources. Source: Skeptic.com Another proof of the reality and truth of global warming is the carbon dioxide increase in the atmosphere in the last 200 years. In fact, the data for the carbon dioxide increase in the past 900 years has been derived from ice cores, tree rings, corals and many direct measurements. The carbon dioxide levels were relatively even since 10,000 years ago and even the past 1000 years. However, the last 200 years, when the Ind.

Earth's climate is mostly influenced by the first 6 miles or so of the atmosphere which contains most of the matter making up the atmosphere. This is really a very thin layer if you think about it. In the book The End of Nature, author Bill McKibbin tells of walking three miles to from his cabin in the Adirondack's to buy food. Afterwards, he realized that on this short journey he had traveled a distance equal to that of the layer of the atmosphere where almost all the action of our climate is contained. In fact, if you were to view Earth from space, the principle part of the atmosphere would only be about as thick as the skin on an onion! Realizing this makes it more plausible to suppose that human beings can change the climate. A look at the amount of greenhouse gases we are spewing into the atmosphere (see below), makes it even more plausible

Carbon Cycle This module uses a variety of sources to educate you about the carbon cycle and current theories of climate. In this module, you will use resources that have opposing views about the impact of humans on the carbon cycle and global climate. Of the many, many, different theories about climate change, we are only presenting a few. Our attempt in this activity is to give a few examples illustrating the complexity involved in studying the environment and the impact of bias on scientific research. A. The carbon cycle is currently in the news as people look for explanations for changes in climate. This issue provides excellent examples of bias in the presentation of information. What is bias in relation to science and reporting? Use any online dictionary and search for “bias”. Write the definition that relates to bias in science and reporting. Answer: Does being biased necessarily mean that you are wrong? Yes No B. Theories Explaining Climate Change: Climate fluctuations have long been observed to be cyclical. Theories explaining the variations include the following: · Human Cause. Humans are responsible for an increase in greenhouse gases that is causing the Earth to warm up and change the climate. · Natural Cycle. The climate changes observed are cyclical and natural. · Volcanic Events. Volcanoes cause variations in the ability of the Earth’s atmosphere to absorb energy. · Astronomical Cause. The Milankivitch Theory asserts that climate changes are caused by changes in the tilt of the Earth’s axis. Changes in some areas are balanced by opposite changes in other areas. · Variations if Energy Output from the Sun. Variations in heat from the sun causes drastic changes in climate. C. Two movies shown in movie theaters have energized the “Global Climate Change” controversy. Evaluate the following movies using the questions on the next page. All information for this page is contained on the websites linked below. If you would like to learn more, you may be able to rent the movies. Movie 1: An Inconvenient Truth Website: http://www.takepart.com/an-inconvenient-truth Click the link “The Film” on the top tab and evaluate the reading list on the right side of the page. Much information was removed from the original website, however, the RealClimate website mostly supports the movie and provides a review at http://www.realclimate.org/index.php/archives/2006/05/al-gores-movie/. The microservices honeymoon is over. When starting a new project or revamping a legacy monolith, teams started looking for alternatives to microservices. The Modular Monolith, or 'Modulith', is an architecture that reaps the benefits of (vertical) functional decoupling without the high costs associated with separate deployments. This talk will delve into the advantages and challenges of this progressive architecture, beginning with exploring the concept of a 'module', its internal structure, public API, and inter-module communication patterns. Supported by spring-modulith, the talk provides practical guidance on addressing the main challenges of a Modultith Architecture: finding and guarding module boundaries, data decoupling, and integration module-testing. You should not miss this talk if you are a software architect or tech lead seeking practical, scalable solutions. About the author With two decades of experience, Victor is a Java Champion working as a trainer for top companies in Europe. Five thousands developers in 120 companies attended his workshops, so he gets to debate every week the challenges that various projects struggle with. In return, Victor summarizes key points from these workshops in conference talks and online meetups for the European Software Crafters, the world’s largest developer community around architecture, refactoring, and testing. Discover how Victor can help you on victorrentea.ro : company training catalog, consultancy and YouTube playlists.

Corporate and higher education. Two industries that, in the past, have had a clear divide with very little crossover. The difference in goals, learning styles and objectives paved the way for differing learning technologies platforms to evolve. Now, those stark lines are blurring as both sides are discovering they have content that’s relevant to the other. Join Tammy Rutherford as she walks through the pros and cons of corporate and higher ed collaborating. And the challenges of these different technology platforms working together for a brighter future.
