If Jesus is God..

In the name of Allah, Most Gracious, Most Merciful

‘ Say: “O People of the Book! Come to common terms as between us and you: that we worship none but Allah; that we associate no partners with Him; that we erect not, from among ourselves, lords and patrons other than Allah”. If they turn back, say: “Bear witness that we (at least) are Muslims (bowing to Allah’s Will)”’.

What do Muslims believe about Jesus (p)?

He was born miraculously (i.e. without a father)

He is the Messiah awaited by the Jews

He is a true messenger of Allah

He received and preached the Gospel (i.e. Injeel)

He came only for the Jews (i.e. the Bani Israel)

What do Muslims believe about Jesus (p)?

He performed many miracles by Allah’s permission

He prophesied the coming of Muhammad (sas)

He did not die on the cross

He will return as a Sign for the Day of Judgment

He is God incarnate (i.e. fully God and fully man)

He is the only begotten Son of God (i.e. the Second Person in a Holy Trinity)

He was crucified and killed for the sins of all humanity

He was raised on the third day and ascended to heaven

What do Christians believe about Jesus (p)?

He is now sitting at the right hand of God

He will return on the Day of Judgment to judge the sinners

Salvation is only for those who believe in him as their Saviour

What do Christians believe about Jesus(p)?

Jesus = God? If Jesus (p) is God as claimed by the Christians, he should necessarily share the attributes of God. Does he? Let the evidence speak for itself…

Allah is OMNISCIENT!

‘ With Him are the keys of the Unseen, the treasures that none knows but He. He knows whatever there is on the earth and in the sea. Not a leaf doth fall but with His knowledge: there is not a grain in the darkness (or depths) of the earth, nor anything fresh or dry (green or withered), but is (inscribed) in a Record clear (to those who can read)’.

Surah Al An’am (6) v.59

Was Jesus (p) Omniscient? ‘ Seeing in the distance a fig tree in leaf, he went to find out if it had any fruit. When he reached it, he found nothing but leaves, because it was not the season for figs ’. (Mark 11:13)

Knowledge of the Hour of Judgment ‘ They ask you about the (final) Hour – when will be its appointed time? Say: “The knowledge thereof is with my Lord (alone): none but He can reveal as to when it will occur…”’ Surah Al A’raf (7) v.187

Did Jesus (p) have the knowledge of the Hour? “ No one knows about that day or hour, not even the angels in heaven, nor the Son , but only the Father”. (Mark 13:32)

Allah is OMNIPOTENT! ‘… for Allah is He Who is strong and able to carry out His Will.’ Surah Al Hajj (22) v. 74

What did Jesus(p) say of himself? ‘ Then Jesus came to them and said, “All authority in heaven and on earth has been given to me” ’. (Matthew 28:18) “ But if I drive out demons by the finger of God , then the kingdom of God has come to you”. (Luke 11:20) “ By myself I can do nothing ; I judge only as I hear, and my judgment is just, for I seek not to please myself but him who sent me”. (John 5:30)

Allah does not pray! ‘ For Him (alone) is prayer in Truth…’ Surah Al Ra’d (13) v.14

Did Jesus (p) pray? ‘… , he went up on a mountainside by himself to pray ’. (Matthew 14:23) ‘ But Jesus often withdrew to lonely places and prayed ’. (Luke 5:16)

Allah cannot be tempted by Satan! ‘ If a suggestion from Satan overwhelms your (mind), seek refuge with Allah; for He hears and knows (all things). Those who fear Allah, when a thought of evil from Satan assaults them, bring Allah to remembrance, when lo! they see (aright)!’ Surah Al A’raf (7) v.200

Was Jesus(p) tempted by Satan? ‘… and he was in the desert forty days, being tempted by Satan .’ ( Mark 1:13 , see also Luke 4:2 ) Contrast with: ‘ For God cannot be tempted by evil …’ ( James 1:13 )

Only Allah is absolutely Good. ‘ Whatever good, (O man!) happens to you, is from Allah…’ Surah Al Nisa’ (4) v.79 ‘ Then which of the favours of your Lord will you deny?’ Surah Al Rahman (55) v.13

The humility of Jesus (p) “ Why do you call me good?” Jesus answered. “No one is good – except God alone ”. (Mark 10:18)

A Dire Warning from Jesus (p)!

‘ They do blaspheme who say: “Allah is Christ the son of Mary.” But said Christ: “O Children of Israel! Worship Allah, my Lord and your Lord. Whoever joins other gods with Allah – Allah will forbid him the Garden, and the Fire will be his abode. There will for the wrongdoers be no one to help”’.
