Presenting Islam2

 1. 1. بسم الله الحمد لله و الصلاة و السلام على رسول الله
 2. 2. Before we continue with our main discussion, let us first come to common terms...
 3. 3. “ In the beginning when God created the heavens and the earth, the earth was a formless void and darkness covered the face of the deep...” Genesis 1:1-2
 4. 4. All praises and thanks be to Allaah , Who (alone) created the heavens and the earth, and originated the darkness and the light. The Noble Qur’aan 6:1
 5. 5. God Allaah THE CREATOR ? ? ? ? ? ? ? ? ?
 6. 6. Who is Allaah? - Allaah is the Arabic proper name for

Allaah is the very same God of Noah, Abraham, Moses, Jesus,

Muhammad (peace be upon them) and all the other prophets and messengers.

The Almighty God: Our Creator - Christian and Jewish Arabs also use the name Allaah to refer to Almighty God.

In the Arabic Bible , the name Allaah is used to represent

God the Creator.

 7. 7. ALLAAH - God the Creator (alone) created all these for our sake... so how do we show our gratitude?
 8. 8. by completely SUBMITTING to His will... but what is His will?
 9. 9. “ Our Father in heaven, holy be Your Name. Your kingdom come, YOUR WILL BE DONE on earth as it is in heaven.” Christian Perspective: (The first of the 10 Commandments) Exodus 20:1-5 “ And God spoke all these words, saying: ‘I am the Lord your God, who brought you out of the land of Egypt, out of the house of bondage. You shall not make for yourself a carved image, or any likeness of anything that is in heaven above, or that is in the earth beneath, or that is in the water under the earth; You shall have no other gods before Me. you shall not bow down to them nor serve them. For I, the Lord your God, am a jealous God...’”
 10. 10. Is God 1 or 3? 1 + 1 + 1 = 1? ‘ God the Father’ + ‘God the Son’ + ‘God the Holy Spirit’ True or False???
 11. 11. The Bible on God’s Oneness : Isaiah 45:18 For thus says the Lord, Who created the heavens, Who is God, Who formed the earth and made it, “ I am the Lord, and there is no other.” Who has established it, Who did not create it in vain, Who formed it to be inhabited:
 12. 12. The Bible on God’s Oneness : Before Me there was no God formed, Nor shall there be after Me. Isaiah 43:1;10-11 But now, thus says the Lord, who created you , O Jacob, And He who formed you, O Israel: "Fear not, for I have redeemed you; I have called you by your name; You are Mine... I, even I, am the Lord, And besides Me there is no savior .
 13. 13. The Bible on God’s Oneness : (Moses called to the worship of ONE GOD) Deuteronomy 6:4 “ Hear, O Israel: The Lord our God, the Lord is ONE! ”
 14. 14. The Bible on God’s Oneness : (Jesus came with the same message)

Matthew 5:17-18

“ Do not think that I have come

to abolish the Law or the Prophets ;

I have not come to abolish them but to fulfill them.

I tell you the truth, until heaven and earth disappear, not the smallest letter, not the least stroke of a pen, will by any means disappear from the Law until everything is accomplished.”
 15. 15. The Bible on God’s Oneness : Mark 12:29-30 Jesus answered him, “ The first of all the commandments is: And you shall love the Lord your God with all your heart, with all your soul, with all your mind, and with all your strength.' This is the first commandment.” 'Hear, O Israel, the Lord OUR God, the Lord is ONE .
 16. 16. ISLAM
 17. 17. What is Islam?

Arabic word which means to submit and surrender

your will to the Almighty God – Allaah.

the call and message of all the prophets and messengers:

Noah, Abraham, Moses, Jesus & Muhammad – the last and

Final Messenger, the seal of all prophets (peace be upon them).

to worship none but Allaah alone, without ascribing any

partners along with Him.

 18. 18. And your God is One God (Allaah), there is none who has the right to be worshipped but He, the Most Beneficent, the Most Merciful. The Noble Qur’aan 2:163 He (Allaah) has ordained for you the same religion which He ordained for Noah, and that which We have inspired in you (O Muhammad ), and that which We ordained for Abraham, Moses and Jesus saying you should establish religion, and make no divisions in it. The Noble Qur’aan 42:13
 19. 19. The Status of Jesus in Islam (Remember) when the angels said: “O Mary! Verily, Allaah gives you the glad tidings of a Word from Him, Muslims believe that Jesus is the Messiah his name will be the Messiah ‘Iesa (Jesus), the son of Mary, held in honor in this world and in the Hereafter, and will be one of those who are near to Allaah.” The Noble Qur’aan 3:45
 20. 20. The Status of Jesus in Islam She (Mary) said: “O my Lord! How shall I have a son when no man has touched me.” Muslims believe in the miraculous birth of Jesus He said: “So (it will be) for Allaah creates what He wills. When He has decreed something, He says to it only: ‘Be!’ and it is.” The Noble Qur’aan 3:47
 21. 21. The Status of Jesus in Islam And He (Allaah) will teach him (‘Iesa (Jesus)) the Book and the wisdom, the Torah and the Gospel. The Noble Qur’aan 3:48 Muslims believe that Allaah sent Jesus with knowledge of the Torah and Gospel
 22. 22. The Status of Jesus in Islam And will make him (‘Iesa (Jesus)) a Messenger to the Children of Israel (saying): “ I have come to you with a sign from your Lord, and I heal him who was born blind, and the leper, and I bring the dead to life by Allaah’s Leave.” The Noble Qur’aan 3:49 Muslims believe in the various miracles performed by Jesus, by the will of Allaah that I design for you out of clay, as it were, the figure of a bird, and breathe into it, and it becomes a bird by Allaah’s Leave;
 23. 23. The Status of Jesus in Islam And (remember) when Allaah said: “O ‘Iesa (Jesus)! I will take you and raise you to Myself and clear you of those who disbelieve... The Noble Qur’aan 3:54-55 Muslims believe that Jesus is alive, and was risen up to heaven alive, and he will come again towards the Day of Judgement.
 24. 24. The Status of Jesus in Islam And because of their saying (in boast), “ We killed Messiah ‘Iesa (Jesus), son of Maryam (Mary), the Messenger of Allaah,” but they killed him not, nor crucified him, but the resemblance of Iesa (Jesus) was put over another man and those who differ therein are full of doubts. They have no (certain) knowledge, they follow nothing but conjecture. For surely; they killed him not. The Noble Qur’aan 4:157
 25. 25. The Status of Jesus in Islam But Allaah raised him up (alive - with his body and soul) unto Himself (and he is in the heavens). And Allaah is Ever All-Powerful, All-Wise. The Noble Qur’aan 4:158
 26. 26. The Message of Jesus Surely, they have disbelieved who say: “ Allaah is the Messiah (‘Iesa (Jesus)), son of Mary.” Verily, whosoever sets up partners in worship with Allaah, then Allaah has forbidden Paradise for him, and the Fire will be his abode. And for the wrongdoers there are no helpers. The Noble Qur’aan 5:72 But the Messiah (‘Iesa (Jesus)) said: “ O Children of Israel! Worship Allah, my Lord and your Lord.”
 27. 27. Surely, disbelievers are those who said: “ Allaah is the third of the three (in a Trinity).” The Message of Jesus Will they not repent to Allaah and ask His Forgiveness? For Allaah is Oft-Forgiving, Most Merciful. The Noble Qur’aan 5:73-74 But there is no god (who has the right to be worshipped) but One Ilah (God - Allaah). And if they cease not from what they say, verily, a painful torment will befall the disbelievers among them.
 28. 28. O people of the Scripture (Jews and Christians)! Do not exceed the limits in your religion, nor say of Allaah aught but the truth. The Message of Jesus The Messiah ‘Iesa (Jesus), son of Mary, was (no more than) a Messenger of Allaah and His Word, ("Be!" - and he was) which He bestowed on Mary and a spirit created by Him; so believe in Allaah and His Messengers. The Noble Qur’aan 4:171
 29. 29. Matthew 21:11 So the multitudes said, “ This is Jesus, the prophet from Nazareth of Galilee.” Luke 24:19 And he said to them, “What things?” So they said to him, “ The things concerning Jesus of Nazareth, who was a Prophet mighty in deed and word before God and all the people... The Message of Jesus
 30. 30. John 6:14 Then those men, when they had seen the sign that Jesus did , said, “ This is truly the Prophet who is to come into the world.” Luke 13:33 (Jesus said:) Nevertheless I must journey today, tomorrow, and the day following; for it cannot be that a prophet should perish outside of Jerusalem. The Message of Jesus
 31. 31. The Message of Jesus Say not: "Three (trinity)!" Cease! (it is) better for you. For Allaah is (the only) One Ilah (God), Glory be to Him (Far Exalted is He) above having a son. To Him belongs all that is in the heavens and all that is in the earth. And Allaah is All-Sufficient as a Disposer of affairs. The Noble Qur’aan 4:171
 32. 32. History of the Trinity & Contradictions in the Bible (An Overview: Details in another presentation) The New Catholic Encyclopedia states: “ The formulation 'one God in three Persons' was not solidly established, certainly not fully assimilated into Christian life and its profession of faith, prior to the end of the 4th century . But it is precisely this formulation that has first claim to the title the Trinitarian dogma. Among the Apostolic Fathers, there had been nothing even remotely approaching such a mentality or perspective .” - (1967), Vol. XIV, p. 299.
 33. 33. History of the Trinity & Contradictions in the Bible (An Overview: Details in another presentation) Rev. Professor David Jenkins, the fourth highest-ranking Bishop in the Church of England and the Bishop of Durham had the following admission to make: “ The Five Gospels,” is a 550 page book containing translations of the Gospels of Matthew, Mark, Luke, and John. It was the result of a six year study by 24 Christian scholars from a number of Western universities. They decided to produce a translation of the Gospels which would be uncolored by the translator's personal faith. Their conclusion (page 5) was: “ Eighty-two percent of the words ascribed to Jesus in the gospels were not actually spoken by him.”
 34. 34. The Pillars of Islam

Shahadah – ( La ilaha illa-Allaah,

Muhammadar-RasooluLlaah) - To testify that none

has the right to be worshipped but Allaah, and

Muhammad is the Messenger of Allaah.

2. Salaah – to establish the five compulsory prayers. 3. Zakaat – to pay the obligatory charity. 4. Sawm – to fast during the month of Ramadaan. 5. Hajj – to perform pilgrimage to Makkah, if financially and physically able.
 35. 35. The Pillars of Eeman (Faith) To believe in: 1. Allaah 2. His Angels 5. The Last Day (The Day of Judgement) 6. Divine Preordainment (whether good or bad) 3. His Books (Torah, Gospel, Psalms, Qur’aan) 4. His Messengers (Noah being the first and Muhammad (peace be upon him) being the seal of all the prophets and messengers)
 36. 36. John 4:23 (Jesus said,) But the hour is coming, and now is, when the true worshippers will worship the Father in spirit and truth; for the Father is seeking such to worship Him.
 37. 37. And whomsoever Allaah wills to guide, He opens his breast to Islaam, May the One True God give us a sincere heart to seek the truth, and to guide us to that which is pleasing to Him ameen. and whomsoever He wills to send astray, He makes his breast closed and constricted, as if he is climbing up to the sky. Thus Allaah puts the wrath on those who believe not. The Noble Qur’aan 6:125
 38. 38. سبحانك اللهم وبحمدك أشهد أن لا إله إلا أنت أستغفرك و أتوب إليك ‘ How perfect You are O Allaah, and I praise You. I bear witness that none has the right to be worshipped except You. I seek Your forgiveness and turn to You in repentance.’ Closing Supplication
