Design of Academic Data Processing Modul for UNSRIT’s Academic Information System

Abstract. Academic system information is a system which stores all academic related information. Until today the information in Sariputra Indonesia University Tomohon is still manually recorded. The ever growing information technology gives a possibility of a switch from the manual information system to a computerized. one.The goal of this graduation project is a module design of data input and scheduling for the academic information system of Sariputra Indonesia University Tomohon, which will make it easier for the university in data processing. This academic information system is developed using Visual Basic and Microsoft Access.From the result of the performance test can be concluded that this application can fulfill the university's need of an effective and efficient data processing.

Abstract. Web-Based Information System in Faculty of Engineering UNSRIT is a system where the process of delivering information about the Faculty of Engineering to the general public is done online so it is more flexible, time efficient, and effective. System development methodology used is FAST (Framework for Application System Techniques). This methodology has the stages of construction and development of a clear and structured system (formal). FAST is also more flexible than other methodologies because the stages of system development process can be combined as needed. This system uses PHP scripts for web application programming, MySQL as database processing software for websites, and Dreamweaver as the software to design web pages.

Abstrak. Sistem Informasi Fakultas Teknik UNSRIT Berbasis Web merupakan suatu sistem dimana proses penyampaian informasi mengenai Fakultas Teknik kepada masyarakat umum dilakukan secara online sehingga lebih fleksibel, efisien waktu, dan efektif. Metodologi pengembangan sistem yang digunakan adalah FAST (Framework for Application System Techniques). Metodologi ini memiliki tahapan pembangunan dan pengembangan sistem yang jelas dan terstruktur (formal). FAST juga lebih fleksibel dibandingkan dengan metodologi lainnya karena tahapan-tahapan proses pengembangan sistem dapat dikombinasikan sesuai dengan kebutuhan. Sistem ini menggunakan skrip PHP untuk pemrograman aplikasi web, MySQL sebagai perangkat lunak untuk pengolahan database website, serta Dreamweaver sebagai perangkat lunak untuk desain halaman web.

6. PERBANDINGAN PENGUKURAN KINERJA SIMPANG BERSINYAL MENGGUNAKAN PROGRAM aaSIDRA 2.0 dan MKJI 1997 (STUDI KASUS: PERSIMPANGAN PAAL 2 MANADO)
The Comparative of the Performance Measurement of Intersection with Signals using aaSIDRA 2.0 and MKJI 1997 (Case: Intersection Paal 2 Manado)

Abstract. In Indonesia the study intersections is based on the requirements MKJI 1997 and in several other countries there is a computer program designed specifically for planning such a program aaSIDRA 2.0 crossing of Australia. In writing this thesis compared the results of the analysis of the performance calculation of capacity, degree of saturation, queue, delay, and Level of Service from the intersection based approach MKJI 1997 and aaSIDRA 2.0 Program. Research conducted in the city of Manado is at the intersection of Paal 2 which is located at R.E Martadinata Street. Research carried out for one week starting on May 2, 2011 until the date of May 8, 2011, Start Time 06:00 to 18:00. Data generated on the survey for the calculation of the geometry data, environmental conditions, traffic flow and intersection signal timing Paal 2 Manado. MKJI 1997 and aaSIDRA 2.0 programs have differences in the calculation process, although the data needed for calculations at the geometry data, environmental conditions, traffic flow and signal timing for the intersection Paal 2 Manado. This study uses regression analysis and iterative approximation method for estimating the capacity and performance statistics of the intersection. Both MKJI 1997 and aaSIDRA 2.0 program will issue the results of the calculation of the intersection of performance Paal 2 Manado of capacity, degree of saturation, queue, delay and level of service. From these results obtained for the intersection Paal 2 Manado using either the program aaSIDRA 2.0 or use MKJI 1997 found that goes beyond the saturation currents for the junction Paal 2. It can be seen on the results of the calculation of the degree of saturation by using MKJI 1997 and Program aaSIDRA 2.0 for the southern approach 0,301 and 0,996, approach the eastern 0,671 and 1,039, western approach 0,498 and 0,877, the northern approach 0,754 and 0,417. For that provided suggestions for improving the performance of the intersection of Paal 2 Manado is to additional road capacity by widening roads and courses held aaSIDRA 2.0 can be applied in transportation planning.

Abstrak. Di Indonesia penelitian simpang dilakukan berdasarkan persyaratan MKJI 1997 dan di beberapa Negara lainnya ada program komputer yang dirancang khusus untuk perencanaan persimpangan seperti program aaSIDRA 2.0 dari Australia. Pada penulisan tesis ini dibandingkan hasil analisis perhitungan kinerja berupa kapasitas, derajat kejenuhan, antrian, tundaan, dan Level of Service dari persimpangan berdasarkan pendekatan MKJI 1997 dan Program aaSIDRA 2.0. Penelitian dilaksanakan di Kota Manado yaitu pada persimpangan Patung Kuda Paal 2 yang terletak di Jalan RE Martadinata. Penelitian dilaksanakan selama 1 (satu) minggu mulai tanggal 02 Mei 2011 sampai dengan tanggal 08 Mei 2011 Mulai Pukul 06.00 – 18.00. Data yang dihasilkan pada survey untuk perhitungan yaitu data geometri, kondisi lingkungan, arus lalu lintas dan waktu sinyal persimpangan Paal 2 Manado. Penelitian ini menggunakan analisa regresi dan metode pendekatan iterasi untuk memberikan perkiraankapasitas danstatistik kinerja dari persimpangan. Baik MKJI 1997 maupun program aaSIDRA 2.0 akan mengeluarkan hasil perhitungan dari kinerja persimpangan Paal 2 Manado berupa kapasitas, derajat kejenuhan, antrian, tundaan dan level of service. Dari hasil penelitian ini didapatkan untuk persimpangan Paal 2 Manado baik menggunakan program aaSIDRA 2.0 maupun menggunakan MKJI 1997 didapatkan adanya arus yang melampaui jenuh untuk persimpangan Paal 2. Hal ini dapat dilihat pada hasil perhitungan derajat kejenuhan dengan menggunakan MKJI 1997 dan Program aaSIDRA 2.0 untuk pendekat selatan 0.301, dan 0.996, pendekat timur 0.671 dan 1.039, pendekat barat 0.498 dan 0.877, pendekat utara 0.754 dan 0.417. Untuk itu diberikan saran untuk meningkatkan kinerja persimpangan Paal 2 Manado dapat dilakukan penambahan kapasitas jalan dengan mengadakan pelebaran jalan dan program aaSIDRA 2.0 dapat diaplikasikan dalam persimpangan untuk perencanaan transportasi kota.

Abstract. The aim of this study is to investigate the relantioship between caring behavior of the nursing and the patien’s satisfaction in the ward. The methodology used in this study is chi-square. The result shows that there is any relationship between caring behaviour and the patient’s satisfaction.

Abstrak. Tujuan penelitian ini adalah untuk melihat hubungan antara perilaku caring perawat pada kepuasan pasien di ruang perawatan rumah sakit. Metode yang dilakukan adalah dengan analisis chi- square. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa terdapat kaitan yang erat antara penerapan caring perawat dan tingkat kepuasan pasien di ruang perawatan.

Abstract. The vital sign examination is important to detect the change or abnormality in the body sistem. The change of the vital sign such as body temperature, pulse, breathing frequency and the blood preasure must be examined by using some methods. The are some methods used in vital sign examination such as temperature measurement, pulse, breathing and blood presure. The result of the examination is the clear indicator about the vital sings.

Abstrak. Pemeriksaan tanda vital sangat penting untuk mendeteksi perubahan atau ketidaknormalan sistem tubuh. Perubahan tanda-tanda vital seperti suhu tubuh, denyut nadi, frekuensi pernapasan dan tekanan darah harus diperiksa dengan menggunakan beberapa metode. Beberapa metode yang digunakan untuk pemeriksaan tanda-tanda vital adalah pengukuran suhu tubuh, denyut jantung, pernapasan dan tekanan darah. Hasil pemeriksaan adalah indikator yang jelas mengenai tanda-tanda vital.

Abstract. Stroke merupakan penyebab utama kecacatan dan penyebab kematian nomor dua di dunia, dengan lebih dari 5,1 juta angka kematian. Kecacatan yang terjadi disebabkan oleh adanya kerusakan pada sistem saraf pusat. Motivasi sebagai perubahan tenaga didalam diri seseorang yang ditandai oleh dorongan efektif dan reaksi-reaksi mencapai tujuan. Tujuan penelitian adalah mengetahui pengaruhi motivasi perawat terhadap kemajuan kekuatan otot pasien stroke iskemik. Desain penelitian menggunakan rancangan pra eksperimen one group pre test dan post test design. Sampel diambil dengan cara purposive sampling, jumlah sampel 18 responden. Teknik pengambiln data observasi langsung. Hasil analisis menggunakan uji wilcoxon, pada tingkat kepercayaan 95% ( 0,05) maka nilai  = 0,003 < 0,05. Hasil menunjukkan Ha diterima. Kesimpulan : terdapat pengaruh motivasi perawat terhadap kemajuan kekuatan otot ekstremitas pasien stroke iskemik. Rekomendasi : diharapkan sebagai perawat professional dapat mengaplikasikan tugas dan perannya sehingga proses perawatan dapat berjalan dengan baik.

Abstrak. Stroke is the main cause of disability and number two cause of death in the world, with more than 5.1 millions the number of death. The disability that happened was caused by the broken center nerve system that manages the ability of movement and also our sensory perception. Motivation as change of power in a person that marked by effective propulsion and reactions in achieving the goal. Destination of this research was done to know the nurse’s motivation influence toward the improvement of extremity muscle strength n stroke. The design of this research is an experiment by using the pre test design one group pre test and post test design. The sample was taken by purposive sampling, where the amount of sample are 18 respondents. The data intake technique was by using direct observation. The experiment result hipotesis using wilcoxon’s experimen with level of mistake 0.05% and level of confidence 95% so p value=0.003<0.05, Ha is accepted. From the result of this research, it can be. Concluded that there is nurse’s influence of motivation toward the improvement of extremity muscle strength. Hopely the Recommendation for the professional nurse can applicated the good jobs to wipe off process.

10. PENGARUH TEKNIK DISTRAKSI MUSIK KLASIK TERHADAP PENURUNAN INTENSITAS NYERI PADA KLIEN PASCA BEDAH SEKSIO SAESAREA Dl RS BETHESDA TOMOHON

Abstract. The population in this study is the average post-surgical clients cesarean section on June in 2010. The number of samples that is by describing 30 people being treated at Bethesda Hospital Tomohon maternity room, a large sample obtained by using the formula in order to obtain as many as 28 of the acquired research is 30 people. The data obtained were analyzed using SPSS version 15.0 is univariate, describing each research variable in a frequency distribution table, and a bivariate using Wilcoxon Signed Rank Test and Mann-Whitney Test at 95% significance level a 0,05 to investigate the influence classical music distraction techniques to decrease pain. The results show there are significant differences between clients' level of postoperative pain distraction technique to the classical music before and after the distraction techniques of classical music, with p = 0.000 which is smaller a 0.05, which means there is the influence of classical music or distraction techniques to decrease the level of pain section on postoperative client caesarea Tomohon Bethesda Hospital.

Abstrak. Populasi dalam penelitian ini adalah rata-rata kHen pasca bedah seksio sesarea pada bulan Juni jumlah 30 orang yang dirawat di ruangan bersalin RS Bethesda Tomohon, besar sampel didapatkan dengan menggunakan rumus sehingga diperoleh sebanyak 28 yang dalam penelitian diperoleh s ebnyak 30" orang. Data yang didapatkan dianalisis menggunakan SPSS versi 15.0 secara univariat, yaitu mendeskripsikan setiap variabel penelitian dalam bentuk tabel distribusi frekuensi, dan secara bivariat menggunakan uji Wilcoxon Signed Rank Test dan uji Mann-Whitney Test pada tingkat kemaknaan 95% (aO,05)untuk mengetahui pengaruh teknik distraksi musik klasik terhadap penurunan nyeri. Hasil analisis menunjukkan terdapat perbedaan yang signifikan antara tingkat nyeri klien pasca operasi sebelum teknik distraksi music klasik dan sesudah di teknik distraksi musik klasik, dengan nilat p = 0,000 dimana lebih kecil a 0,05 yang berarti ada pengaruh teknik distraksi musik klasik terhadap penurunan tingkat nyeri pada klien pasca bedah seksio sesarea di RSU Bethesda Tomohon.

Relationship Among Education, Knowledge and Attitude of the Seniors with Oesteoporosis Prevention

Abstract. The number of elderly people increasingly hight. Factors that causing osteoporosis namely: unhealthy life style, lack of nutritional intake, lack of physical excersise, lack of knowledge related to education, lack knowledge and attitude of elderly. The objective of this study is to identify relationship between education, knowledge and attitude and prevention of elderly as district Walian South Tomohon. The study design using descriptive method and cross sectional with 46 Sample as respondents. The result of the study: 1) majority of the respondents 28 persons or 61 % are elementary school. Lower education may cause osteoporosis prevention in elderly.2). Majority of the respondents have lack of knowledge: 30 peoples or 65 % elderly who has high education more better osteoporosis prevention. There is a relationship between education in elderly, they were better in osteoporosis prevention. 3). Majority of the respondents have positive attitude and negative attitude is equal number,there is relationship between attitude to prevention osteoporosis in elderly at district Walian South Tomohon.

ABSTRAK. Dampak kemajuan ilmu pengetahuan dan teknologi terutama di bidang kesehatan, sehingga kualitas dan umur harapan hidup meningkat. Akibatnya jumlah penduduk lanjut usia semakin bertambah banyak. Faktor yang dapat menyebabkan terjadinya osteoporosis yaitu gaya hidup tidak sehat, kurang gerak/tidak berolah raga, pengetahuan yang kurang tentang pencegahan, serta asupan nutrisi yang kurang.Tujuan Penelitian adalah mengidentifikasi hubungan pendidikan, pengetahuan dan sikap lanjut usia dengan pencegahan osteoporosis di Kelurahan Walian Kecamatan Tomohon Selatan.Desain penelitian menggunakan metode penelitian deskriptif yang bersifat cross- sectional dengan sampel yang digunakan pada penelitian ini sebanyak 46 responden.Hasil penelitian menyimpulkan 1). Mayoritas responden mempunyai tingkat pendidikan Dasar yaitu sebanyak 28 orang atau 61%. Semakin rendah pendidikan semakin rendah pencegahan osteoporosis pada Lansia. Ada hubungan pendidikan dengan pencegahan osteoporosis lanjut usia. 2). Mayoritas responden mempunyai tingkat pengetahuan kurang yaitu 30 orang (65%). Semakin tinggi pengetahuan yang dimiliki lansia, maka semakin baik pula pencegahan osteoporosis. Ada hubungan pengetahuan dengan pencegahan osteoporosis lanjut usia. 3). Mayoritas responden mempunyai sikap positif dan negatif yang sama jumlahnya. Ada hubungan sikap dengan pencegahan osteoporosis lanjut usia di Kelurahan Walian Kecamatan Tomohon Selatan.

12. PEMANFAATAN EM-4 SEBAGAI BIO-AKTIVATOR DALAM PENGOLAHAN KOTORAN TERNAK SAPI DAN LIMBAH JERAMI JAGUNG MENJADI KOMPOS
The Use of EM-4 as a Bio-Activator in the Processing of Cow Manure and Corn Straw Waste into Compost

ABSTRACT. A study was conducted to determine how effective the application of EM-4 (0%, 5%, 10% and 15%) in reducing the waste of cow dung and maize straw into simple molecules that can be used as compost in terms of chemical quality compost (nitrogen and phosphorus). The study was conducted using completely randomized design with four treatments and three replications. The composition of the composting materials in this study were: Compost materials without the concentration of EM-4, Composts with concentrations of EM-4 as much as 5% per liter of water; Composts with concentrations of EM-4 as much as 10% per liter water; Composts with concentrations of EM-4 as much as 15% per liter of water. The parameters to be observed in this study is the chemical quality of organic matter (nitrogen and phosphorus) after composting for 28 days. The results of this study indicate that the use of bio-activator, EM-4 against the influence of different treatments were significantly (P <0.01) against control. The use of bio-activator, EM-4 at a concentration of 15% gives better results when compared with the concentration of 10%, 5% and control. The results of this study indicate that the use of bio-activator, EM-4 to give the effect of different treatments were significantly (P <0.01) against control. Utilization of bio-activator, EM-4 at a concentration of 15% gives better results when compared with the concentration of 10%, 5% and control.

ABSTRAK. Suatu penelitian telah dilaksanakan untuk mengetahui seberapa jauh efektifitas aplikasi EM-4 (0%, 5%, 10% dan 15%) dalam mereduksi kotoran ternak sapi dan limbah jerami jagung menjadi molekul yang sederhana sehingga dapat dimanfaatkan sebagai pupuk kompos ditinjau dari kualitas kimia kompos (N,P,K dan C/N rasio). Penelitian dilakukan menggunakan Rancangan Acak Lengkap (RAL) dengan 4 perlakuan dan 3 ulangan. Susunan bahan pengomposan dalam penelitian ini adalah: R0 (bahan kompos tanpa konsentrasi EM-4); R1 (bahan kompos dengan konsentrasi EM- 4 sebanyak 5% per liter air); R2 (bahan kompos dengan konsentrasi EM-4 sebanyak 10% per liter air); (bahan kompos dengan konsentrasi EM-4 sebanyak 15% per liter air). Parameter yang ingin diamati dalam penelitian ini adalah kualitas kimia bahan organik(N,P,K dan imbangan C/N) setelah pengomposan selama 28 hari. Hasil penelitian ini menunjukkan bahwa pemanfaatan bio-aktivator EM-4 terhadap perlakuan memberikan pengaruh yang berbeda sangat nyata (P<0.01) terhadap kontrol. Pemanfaatan bio-aktivator EM-4 pada konsentrasi 15% memberikan hasil yang lebih optimum jika dibandingkan dengan konsentrasi 10%, 5% maupun kontrol.

Abstract. The aim of this study to find out relation between knowledge and nurse attitude with the nursing caring documentation in Irina A BLU Prof.DR.R.D. Kandou Hospital Manado. The kind of researce is analitc observational researce,with cross sectional study design. In this researce,the population is all the nurse that worked in Irina A BLU Prof DR R D Kandow hospital. In this researce sample is the most population That according and deserve to inclusi requaritment. The data analise by using a Computerise system like software Statistic program for social science (SPSS) versition 17,0,using chi-square tes ,with the meaning level 95% (α =0,05). Statistic analysis result show that there is a relation between nurse knowledge. With the nursing caring documentation in value of P=0,012 < 0,05, and for nurse. Attitude there is relation with the nursing caring documentation show a rea conection. Wich value of P=0,030 < 0,05. According to researce result showing between knowledge and attitude there Is a significant conection wich,when became better the nurse knowledge and their attitude the nursing caring documentation wiil be better.

Abstrak. Tujuan dari penelitian ini adalah diketahui hubungan pengetahuan, dan sikap perawat dengan pendokumentasian asuhan keperawatan di Irina A BLU RSU Prof. Dr. R. D. Kandou Manado, Jenis penelitian ini adalah penelitian observasional analitik dengan rancangan Cross Sectional Study (Studi Potong Lintang). Populasi dalam penelitian ini adalah semua perawat yang ada di Irina A BLU RSU Prof. Dr. R. D. Kandou Manado. Sampel dalam penelitian ini adalah bagian dari populasi yang memenuhi kriteria inklusi. data dianalisis dengan menggunakan sistem komputerisasi, yaitu Sofware Statistic Program for Social Science (SPSS) versi 17.0, dengan menggunakan uji chi-square (X2), pada tingkat kemaknaan 95% (α 0,05). Hasil analisis statistik menunjukkan bahwa adanya hubungan yang bermakna antara pengetahuan perawat dengan pendokumentasian asuhan keperawatan, yang mana diperoleh nilai p = 0,012 < 0,05, dan untuk sikap perawat terdapat hubungan dengan pendokumentasian asuhan keparawatan menunjukkan bahwa adanya hubungan yang bermakna, yang mana diperoleh nilai p = 0,030 < 0,05. Berdasarkan hasil penelitian menujukkan bahwa pengetahuan dan dan sikap mempunyai hubungan yang signifikan dimana semakin baik tingkat pengetahuan dan sikap perawat maka semakin dapat dilakukan pendokumentasian asuhan keperawatan yang baik.

Abstract. The aim of this study is to identificate the nurse attitude and its impact to the quality of service at RSU GMIM Bethesda Tomohon. The research design used Cross Sectional with Spearman Rho Correlation. The result shows that there is any relationship between the nurse attitude and the quality of the nursing service.

Abstrak. Tujuan dari penelitian ini yaitu untuk menggambarkan dan mengkaji pendapat publik tentang kinerja Anggota DPRD Kota Manado. Metode penelitian yang digunakan yaitu metode kualitatif. Pengumpulan data didapatkan melalui wawancara, pengamatan dan studi dokumentasi. Sampel ditentukan purposive sampling pada 63 informan terdiri dari toko masyarakat, toko agama, toko politik, toko pemuda, akademisi, PNS terkait, dan pengusaha. Data dianalisis dengan cara pengorganisasian setiap unit analisis dengan membuat label, selanjutnya dibuat kategori untuk mendapatkan makna yang sama kemudian diinterpretasi. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa sebagian besar masyarakat berpendapat bahwa anggota DPRD Kota Manado belum pernah menampung aspirasi masyarakat yang ada di daerah mereka. Pendapat masyarakat dominan mengatakan cukup baik terhadap kinerja anggota DPRD Kota Manado dalam menjalankan fungsi legislasi dan fungsi anggaran. Tetapi, pendapat masyarakat dominan mengatakan kurang baik dalam hal pembuatan kebijakan, dominan berpendapat masih belum berpihak pada masyarakat. Dari hasil penelitian ini dapat disimpulkan bahwa pendapat masyarakat terhadap kinerja anggota berada pada kategori cukup baik dan sebagian besar berpendapat bahwa dalam pembuatan kebijakan belum berpihak sepenuhnya pada masyarakat. Untuk meningkatkan kinerja, disarankan, anggota DPRD Kota Manado perlu lebih responsif dalam menampung aspirasi masyarakat dan mendahullukan kepentingan masyarakat pada setiap perencanaan dan pembentukan kebijakan.

Abstract. The aim of this study was to describe and assess the public opinion about the performance of DPRD member of Manado City. The research methodology used was a qualitative method. Data collection were obtained through interviws, observation and documentation study. Samples were determined by purposive sampling on 63 informants consisted of community leaders, religious leaders, political leaders, youth leaders, academician, civil servants, and entrepreneurs. Data were analyzed through organization of each analysis unit by creating a label, then categorizing to get the same meaning and then were interpreted. The results showed that the majority of society believed that DPRD member of Manado City had never accommodate the community aspirations that exised in their areas while the opinion of those had been visited by members were only a small portion. In addition, many people said that the performance of members in running the legislative and budgetary functions were fairly good, but in running the supervisory function was not good. Public opinion against member in terms of policy making, the dominant opinion was still siding with the community. From the result it could be conculuded that public opinion on the performance of members of parliament were in the category good enough and most of society believed that the policy – making had not been antirely on the public side. It is suggested that members of DPRD of Manado City need to be more responsive in accommodating the aspirations of the community and the prioritization of public interest in every planning and policy formation.

Abstract. This study is aimed to identify relationship between obesity and the occurrence of hypertension at adult woman in Kawangkoan. Analytical observation with cross sectional approach is used to analyze the data. The prevalence of hypertension is 47.6%. The result shows any relationship between obesity and the occurrence of hypertension with the prevalence 36,5%.

17. ANALISIS PENGARUH PERTAMBAHAN PENDUDUK TERHADAP PERMASALAHAN SOSIAL EKONOMI PADA KAWASAN PERMUKIMAN KUMUH DI KOTA MANADO
Analysis Effects of Population Growth on Socio-Economy of Slum Settlement Areas of Manado City

ABSTRACT. A range of policies to deal with slums city have not yet effectivelly addressing the issues of slum areas in Manado City. This condition is evidenced by the increasing in population density and the number of slum areas in the City of Manado in the last 5 years. This research aimed to identify the effect of increased in population on social issues and economic development in the slum areas of Manado City and to analyze the effect of policies on the development of these areas. The analysis methods used in this study were descriptive and quantitative methods. Quantitative Method was used 2 analysis which were (1) Analysis of Causal Relations using the application Amos 5, (2) Analysis model using Powersim application. The results show that the direct impact of the variables of population number and population density to the problems of unemployment, low levels of health and crime showed a small value starting from 0.04 to 0.16 of the indirect impact. The conclusion of this research is that the policy used to control the high population density through relocation of the residents was the most effective one in overcoming problems of slum areas of Manado city.

ABSTRAK. Berbagai kebijakan penanganan permukiman kumuh telah dilakukan di Kota Manado belum efektif meningkatkan kualitas lingkungan menjadi lebih baik dan tidak kumuh. Kondisi ini dibuktikan dengan bertambahnya kepadatan penduduk dan jumlah kawasan permukiman kumuh di Kota Manado dalam 5 tahun terakhir. Penelitian ini dilakukan untuk mengidentifikasi pengaruh pertambahan penduduk pada perkembangan permasalahan sosial dan ekonomi di permukiman kumuh Kota Manado serta menganalisis pengaruh dari kebijakan pada perkembangan permukiman kumuh. Penelitian ini menggunakan dua metode analisis yaitu metode deskriptif dan kuantitatif. Metode kuantitatif menggunakan 2 analisis yaitu (1) Analisis Hubungan Kausal menggunakan aplikasi Amos 5, (2) Analisis model menggunakan aplikasi Powersim. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan dampak langsung variabel jumlah penduduk dan kepadatan penduduk terhadap permasalahan pengangguran, tingkat kesehatan rendah dan tindakan kriminal menunjukkan nilai yang kecil yaitu mulai 0,04 – 0,16 dari pada dampak tidak langsung. Kesimpulan penelitian ini adalah kebijakan untuk mengendalikan tingginya kepadatan penduduk lewat relokasi penduduk merupakan skenario kebijakan penanganan permukiman kumuh yang lebih efektif dalam mengatasi permasalahan kawasan permukiman kumuh Kota Manado.
