How to embed presentations using the Open Source, Chisimba-based web present in 9 easy steps. This is not an alternative to Slideshare, but has the advantage of integration with the KEWL3 eLearning application and other Chisimba applications. There is also a Moodle plugin available.

  • 1. Upload your presentations to http://chameleon.uwc.ac.za
  • 2. Open a web browser and browse to the URL http://chameleon.uwc.ac.za & click the login link on the toolbar 1 Click the login link on the toolbar
  • 3. Enter your user name Enter your password Check Network Id (use your Novell username) Click login 2
  • 4. Click upload on the toolbar to upload your first presentation 3
  • 5. Click browse to locate your presentation on your computer 4
  • 6. Browse to wherever the presentation is located and select it (e.g. Documents) 5
  • 7. Click upload when you have located the file you want to upload 6
  • 8. Important: The upload can take several minutes, or longer if you are on a slow connection. Please be patient! The striped animation indicates that the file is uploading. Do not disturb the upload 7
  • 9. 8 Enter a title Provide a description Add some tags separated by commas Choose a license. UWC strategy suggests BY-SA Click Update to finish the process
  • 10. 9 Now you presentation is on line and ready for use in a content page
  • 11. <ul><li>You presentation is now online </li></ul><ul><li>You can </li></ul><ul><ul><li>Download it in PowerPoint, OpenOffice or PDF format </li></ul></ul><ul><ul><li>View it as a sequence of images or use individual images in pages </li></ul></ul><ul><ul><li>Insert it into the site blog </li></ul></ul><ul><ul><li>Insert it into KEWL3 or any Chisimba-based web site or application </li></ul></ul><ul><ul><li>Insert it into any website that allows HTML snippets </li></ul></ul><ul><ul><li>Give it live with voice to a group of participants </li></ul></ul>
