This is a presentation I have used with my year 11 students who are looking at the impacts of coastal processes and landforms on people.

The students also had a handout to go alongside it with some further details about the Holderness Coast and the use of laptops to do their own research.

  • The Holderness coast is one of Europe’s fastest eroding coastlines. The average annual rate of erosion is around 2 metres per year. The main reason for this is because the bedrock is made up of till. This material was deposited by glaciers around 12,000 years ago.Glacial processes and landforms in the area offer both opportunities and constraints for the people who live and work in along the Holderness coast.
