3. The tigress, plaintive,
growls in pain,

4. The great trees hear her
breathing, shaking
Inside her still, the new lives wait.

5. These cubs could be the last ones ever
To freely live and roam and mate.

8. Far in the North the white bear
snuffles

9. Down in her lair the gleaming
snow

10. She waits for all the life she’s making
Outside the crashing glaciers grow

warbles

17. She weaves her nest to hold her
clutch

18. A long wait now to find a partner

19. The eggs are laid, there are not
much

20. These chicks could be the last

21. The last to fly and sing and mate

23. Or will the Dreamer Wake?

24. Deep in Ocean South the whale
swims

25. Her song of birthing fills the seas

26. Thousands of creatures wait the
moment

27. The solemn birth that they will see

28. This child could sing the final
whale song

29. The last to make the oceans shake

30. Our grandchild never hears its mystery

31. Or will the Dreamer Wake?

32. Here in the Centre, four directions gather

33. The path ahead leads up or down

34. Is this our waving as we drown?

35. This could be our last true moment
Knowing the truth, our choices make.
