2. Our observations
Lack of proper methods of waste
management
Heavy school bags
Wastage of electricity
Improper disposal of food wrappers
Wastage of paper
3. The problem that we thought of
addressing to…
Inappropriate disposal of food wrappers
The effect of inappropriate disposal of food
wrappers:
A pollutant that harms the environment
Kills cattle by choking them
Affects seepage of water into soil
Releases harmful gases when burnt
4. What we did with plastic
We used plastic bags to cover our notebooks
We also tried to make a mat by stitching
wrappers together
5. Ideas into action
We needed staplers, plastic wrappers and
books to cover.
6. Budget…….
Almost no money was required as plastic
wrapper is a waste and staplers were
available at home.
How long did it take?
It took us less than 5 minutes to cover one
notebook . So it really was not a tedious task.
7. Spreading the word
We distributed pamphlets about our idea in
the neighborhood and spoke to other
students in our school.
We also told our acquaintances to circulate
the idea to as many people as possible.
8. Continuing with the idea
We have decided to check that the plastic
wrappers are not thrown away in an
indiscriminate manner.
We will in future try too promote the idea of
reusing wrappers in the best possible way.
