4. Sean Tully Sean is a very camp character who doesn’t care for anyone against homosexuals and fights for gay rights

5. Camera angles Sophie and Sian Sean The camera angles used for Sophie and Sian in this scene are low down, and follow every move using the 180 degree rule. This creates tension for the characters, so that everything they do as a couple is done in private, it is a secret. So when being filmed they are usually in an enclosed area away from everyone, or somewhere that makes it seem an awkward camera angle. The camera angles used for Sean in this scene are very different. Tracking shots are used at the end of the scene they follow the two walking down the street together Because of his character Sean is a person who is loud and proud about being homosexual , the camera angles for him are very open and consist of a long/ wide shot. The camera moves out towards the end of this particular scene, showing that they are out in the open for everybody to see.

6. Sound Sophie and Sian Sean In this scene the sound is mostly diegetic with the sounds being Sophie’s uncle shouting up to them and the conversation between Sophie and Sian. Because it is silent in the background their voices seem to be louder. This is done so that the audience don’t get distracted and can concentrate on what is being said . In this scene the sound is seen as being non diegetic, in the pub there is background noise of people talking, there is also music that would not of been heard in the filming process and therefore been added in the editing process. When they are walking down the street there is a dog barking ad the sound of cars passing by, these would also of been added in the editing process and the characters would not of heard them in the setting.

7. Mise- en- scene Sophie and Sian Sean Sophie and Sian are dressed fairly normal in this scene. Both being young teenagers they are wearing clothes that are considered the latest fashion. This suggests that they are not the stereotypical lesbians who would be seen as wearing tight clothing showing parts of their body, and to have short hair. This might then lead on to say that they are worried about what other people may think about them. The props used in this scene are a sofa in an office that is fairly dark with the blinds closed and the door locked. Because Sean is classed as a stereotypical homosexual in this scene he has got short blonde hair with tints in it. And is wearing a tight fitted top and jeans that are slightly baggy. No particular props are used in this scene, as they are in a bar there is just the normal drinks machines, beer mats and empty glasses. Because he is in the pub this shows that he chats amongst other people and is seen out in the open with other men.

8. Editing Sophie and Sian Sean In this scene the 180 degree is used, Sophie and Sian’s eye line meet. Panning is also used as it follows a low angle that looks up at the two characters as they get closer to each other. In Sean’s scene there is a crane camera angle that moves out making it a wide shot. There is non diegetic sound used which will have been edited into the scene to make it seem more like it has been filmed just outside with dogs and cars. This is done so that the audience realise that they are in the public eye.
