This document discusses a 3-year project to identify important qualities of effective lifelong learners and develop an assessment tool to measure learning dispositions. Through presentations and a literature review, the project identified 7 dimensions of "learning power": changing and learning, meaning making, critical curiosity, creativity, learning relationships, strategic awareness, and resilience. Researchers then developed surveys to measure these dimensions and created tools like blogs and the ELLIment dashboard to help students and teachers reflect on strengths and areas for growth across the 7 dimensions in order to support intentional, self-directed learning.

– a relatively enduring tendency to behave in a

– malleable dispositions that are important for
developing intentional learners, and which,
critically, learners can recognise and develop in
themselves
