1. I am going to teach Mid-autumn festival in this lesson. In the lesson, I have to play a story of mooncake which was shown in powerpoint as it can display presentations in the web The HTML tags are very powerful and can be used to enhance a presentation.<br />Using powerpoint can help students learn effectively as students often demotivate if they found the lesson is boring. Undoubtedly, it is important for teachers to motivate student to learn. How the students learn highly depends on how the teacher plans his/her lesson. Information Technology has played an important role in teaching and has become a new dimension for education these days. Students love using information technology in classroom as it is more interesting and interactive. For instance, I’ve found a story online related to my teaching topic--Mid-autumn festival. Through the story, students can know more about the tradition of Mid-autumn festival and the story behind mooncake. Junior students love story-telling and they enjoy having story time in the academic subject. I used online story rather than telling story by myself as it was more interesting and they were more eager to learn and explore knowledge by themselves. There was animation in the story and students love it very much. Once their attention were drawn, teacher can teach the students more easily as they have already motivated to know what’s the lesson going on and what’s going to learn in the lesson.<br />We used to learn in a spoon-feeding way, the teacher talks in whole lesson until the lesson ends. However, the mode of teaching has changed these days. We use more interactive way to elicit students’ learning motivation. In my lesson plan, I have asked the students to revise the story once at home with their parents so that they can recall their memory and they can have more time to communicate with their parents. From the point of view of their parents, they can know much about what their children have learnt in class. If we just ask the students to read the book and memorize the things in the books by themselves, the students would find it boring and the motivation would be weakened. As a teacher, I need to explore more resources online in this Information Explosion era as almost students have their computers and internet is easily accessed. The motivation for students turning on the computer is far greater than that for them picking up a book. Therefore, using IT for teaching is effective for students to learn because they are more eager to learn with the aid of IT.<br />
