2. 03/03/14
03/03/14 Today I researched ideas for my robot. I
took images from the internet related to
sidekicks and different styled robots. I had
a good idea at the end of it at what my
robot would look like, I have gone with a
retro styled robot using squares and
rectangles as my main shapes. This is
because they are the easiest shape to
manipulate giving me a good range of
freedom.
4. 06/03/14
06/03/14 Today I created my idea for my robot on
paper for a later reference image. I drew
my robot from the design of my research. I
created my robots head based on a retro
styled robot with a screen for a face like
the robots from fall out 3. The body was
based on the idea it had multipurpose use
and was inspired by my own imagination.
My lower half of the robot was a hover
based system like a hovercraft. I created
this due to the ability for the player to fly.
The arms were based on iron
man/transformers with a lot of wires and
block based metals.

6. 10/03/14
10/03/14 Today I created the head of my robot going
from my reference images but also add
different components. I originally started
with a box and added separate
components to it. I started with the colour
black and red as it was a good contrast. I
then added horns and a face using a verity
of surfaces
7. Head designs
This was my first design of my robot head. I attached a jpeg image for a face including horns and an antenna. I
chose purple for the horns and antenna as it was a contrasting bright colour.
This is my head in detail. The face is
one from the internet I sourced and
the rest is the design I created from a
drawing using reference images. The
main head was created by
multishifiting it at the back and in on
the front. The horns are created from a
sub patched box witch a dragged out.
8. 17/03/14
17/03/14 Today I created my body for my robot.
There were many aspects I can work with
from the shape of the body to the extra
components. To create the safe I
researched images of safes looking at the
shape of the handle. The computer screen
was created using a jpeg image from the
internet. I also bevel certain aspects like
the sides to add a certain level of detail.
9. Body Design
This was my first design of my robot body. I Created a safe in the stomach and a computer screen
as well that leads directly to the market place. The safe was coloured a dark grey to create a
metal effect and the outer screen was purple to make it stand out.
This is my robots body in detail. The
safe was created by making a box and
adding a dial to it. The screen image
was sourced from the internet into a
jpeg and put it into the robot with a
bevel edge.
10. 24/03/14
24/03/14 I created my lower body for my robot
starting with a base block and adding a
cylinder to connect the body to the lower
half. I then added 4 toroid primitive shape
for wheels colouring them black and
adding cylinders on the holes to create
rims. This gave a realistic effect to my
robots lower half
11. Leg design
This was my first design of my robot legs. I created 4 wheels on a podium to give a car effect. The
wheels are slightly bend in and created from the classic doughnut shape

t make them more realistic and the
cube a dark grey to match the body. I
chose this design as my previous idea
didn’t turn out as well as I wanted to.
12. 31/03/14
31/03/14 I created my robots arm today sticking to
the design pack very well. I used a variety
of techniques to create my arm from
multisite and bevel to sub patch to curve
my wires. My arm was then mirrored to
copy the same effect onto the other side. I
added 2 extra points at the top as
connectors to the body. I believe that in
the future I may add some accsesories
13. Arm Design
This was my first design of my robot arm, I kept to my design and did a verity of methods to create
my arm from sub patch to bevel and drag. The colour was originally red to stand out but changed
later.

is created through different basic
shapes attached by wires created by
subdivide.
