Pearl Harbor:
Surprise military strike on U.S. Naval base on the island of Oahu, Hawaii. On Sunday, December 7,
1941. The casualties were 2333 dead, 1139 wounded. Japanese losses were 29 aircraft, 5 midget subs
and 65 Japanese serviceman killed/wounded.
The Strike Force consisted of 6 aircraft carriers with 359 aircraft. 2 fast battleships, 2 heavy cruisers, 1
light cruisers, 9 destroyers, 3 fleet subs, and 8 oilers for fuel.

Anne Frank:
Born on June 12, 1929 in Frankfurt am Main, Weimar Germany. Her full name was Annelies Marie,
but she went by Anne. The Franks were reform Jews and lived in a town of people who were mixed
Jewish, and non-Jewish. On March 13, 1933 Adolf Hitler's nazi party won an election. This caused
the Franks to worry if they would be safe in Germany.

Penicillin:
Alexander Fleming was one of the first to notice the medical properties of molds and fungi. The
discovery of Penicillin came as a total accident because when Fleming returned from a long
vacation he noticed that multiple culture dishes were contaminated with an odd fungus. He
decided to throw the dishes in disinfectant. He observed that the zone around the fungus bacteria
didn't seem to grow. He recognized at as being from the Penicillin family and named the fungus
Penicillin. Penicillin was discovered in 1929.
Penicillin helps heal some viral infections, and kills bacteria.
