There are 6 significant processes that influence the way you perceive another person and come to some kind of interpretation of him/her.

Implicit Personality Theory- the system of rules that tells you which characteristics go together. Perceptual Accentuation- Leads you to see what you expect or want to see Primacy-Recency- We give more importance to the person’s first impression (Primacy) or the impression that is most recent (Recency) Consistency- Maintaining balance among attitudes.
