  • 2. Biografy  Born 1632 in Wrington Studied in one of Englands most respected schools. After graduation he served as a mentor for the students at Oxford university. Wrote his most famous work in 1687 ”An essay concerning human understanding” Dead year 1706
  • 3. Famous Work  empiricism in philosophy liberalism in politics. He inspired the American political system.
  • 4. His doctrine “No mans knowledge here can go beyond his experience. “ - John Locke We are born without knowledge, it is gained by our life experiences.
  • 5. An essay concerning human understanding” Concerns the foundation of human knowledge and understanding. the mind at birth is like a blank slate The essay was one of the principal sources of empiricism in modern philosophy, and influenced many enlightenment philosophers.
