This document discusses ideas for libraries to incorporate makerspaces and creative spaces. It provides examples of existing makerspaces in Florida libraries and ideas for programming like robotics, music making, and crafts. The document encourages libraries to share information about their makerspaces and creative spaces. It also provides suggestions for expanding programming beyond the library walls through partnerships with schools, museums, and community groups. Overall, the document aims to inspire libraries to develop makerspaces and creative learning opportunities for their communities.

Hey everyone.
Today we deal with a couple of common questions and then we will answer your questions and get some ideas for everyone.
Basics include talking about who and what is a maker; what you should do in your library; why you need to get out of the library and we will explore what others are doing.
If you have been here for this presentation before the jokes are still as bad but there is new material as well.
Come on along for a fun ride.
So first off those crazy crazy makers and those dangerous devices.
We have all seen some of the cool fun interesting….. I mean dangerous and incredibly horrible things
As admin thinks about these things sometimes.
But what is the worst that can happen?
What Makers are and where to find some inspiration for your own particular space
Do you need a fancy professionally designed top of the line spare no expense sort of space?
Any open space can work for you and your makers. The only limit is the imagination and what you and your CUSTOMERS want
Get your inspiration from anywhere do not stay in your building. Go out and look around your city at what you can do, what will inspire you.

Does your library have a makerspace, technology center or creation space? If so, we would love to hear about it. Katrice Stewart is planning to create a statewide, searchable portal with all of the information collected. She'd like to know the name and location of your space, what activities are available and, if applicable, the URL of the space's webpage.
Please send your information to Katrice Stewart, state data coordinator,
at katrice.stewart@dos.myflorida.com or 850.245.6608.
