2. REGION
The landforms of the Southeast
region are all different.
Some of the landforms
are swamps,rice fields,
forest and water.
3. FOOD
The Navajo were farmers hunters and
gatheres. The principal food is mutton, boiled,
and corn prepared in many ways. But they
tened sheep and planted corn.
4. SHELTER
Teepees were the homes of the nomadic tribes
of the Gread Plains. A teepee was a build with
buffalo skin.
5. CLOTHING
Navajo clothing for both
men and women initially
was deerskin for shirts and
skirts. The men later wore
cotton shirts , trousers
below the knee. Women
wore the "squaw dress,
" made of plain dark
blankets.
6. WEAPONS AND TODS
Navajos may be best known for
creating an unbreakable military code
during World War II and developing an
impressive knoledge of metallurgy.
7. EVERYDAY LIFE
The Navajo did not live in villages. They lived
in small family groups. Each family lived near
their corn fields. The men hunted deer and
the women took care of the sheep and the
crops.
8. TRADITIONS
Navajo have a special tradition in caring for
the sheep that provide the wool to cloth.
