[object Object],TB3: Battery Connection The NFS2-640 requires a secondary power source of 24 VDC. The battery charger output support 18 – 200 AH batteries.

[object Object],Backup Switches Backup alarm switches are provided that enable NACs to activate during a backup alarm condition. If the mainoboard´s microcontroller fails and an alarm is reported by any detector or a monitor module that has backup reporting enabled, the NAC will turn on if the corresponding switch is enabled. The alarm relay will activate during microprocessor failure regardless of the settings of switches SW1-SW4. NEVER enable the Backup Alarm feature for any of the four Notification Appliance Circuits if they are to be employed as releasing circuits.

[object Object],System switches Onboard switches are provided for the execution of Acknowledge, Silence and Reset functions during service and maintenance when a local keyboard/display has not been installed on the CPU-640.

[object Object],KDM Connector The KDM-R2 Keyboard Display interfaces to the CPU2-640 via a ribbon cable on J7.

[object Object],Status LEDs Onboard LEDs provide service technicians with critical system status in applications where the CPU2-640 does not have a primary display.

[object Object],The Aux Inputs The CPU-2-640 contains an input for the receipt of auxiliary trouble signals on J6. A short on this input generates a trouble signal.

[object Object],Zone Coder This input is used to interface the NFS2-640 to a UZC-256 Universal Zone Coder. Note: The UZC-256 requires 5 VDC power which must be supplied by TB-2 or an auxiliary power supply.

[object Object],Notification Appliance Circuits The NFS-640 can activate a variety of different Notification Appliance along four circuits to provide evacuation throughout the protected premises. Six amps of NAC current is available. Any NAC can alternatively be programmed as a Releasing Circuit. Each circuit supports up to 1.5 amps of current.

[object Object],Relays Form-C Security and Supervisory relays are provided onboard the CPU-640. These relays are rated for 2 A at 30 VDC (resistive).

[object Object],Power Outputs TB10 of the CPU2-640 provides two power outputs, one resettable, and one non-resettablefor powering external peripherals. [object Object],EIA-485 Circuits TB11 provides two outputs for the connection of two classes of remote annunciators.

[object Object],Printer Connection A PRN series printer can be used to print a copy of all status changes within the control panel and time-stamp the printout with the time of day and date the event occurred. A custom cable with a DB-25 female connector is needed for connection to the control panel. The EIA-232 output is power-limited but not supervised.

[object Object],Network Connection The Notifier Universal Protocol (NUP) port is used to integrate the NFS2-640 to a network. This connection uses a NUP cable to connect to a Network module. This connection alternately used to interface the NCA-2 to the CPU-640 as the primary display in non-netowrk applicaptions.

[object Object],Verifire Tools Connections (J2, J3, NUP) Two USB port types are provided to allow the Verifire Tools programming utility to upload/download the operating program. For computers without a USB port, connection can be made between the PC´s serial port and CPU´s J1 NUP port.

[object Object],NACs and DC Power Outputs NOTE: The NACs and DC Power Outputs share a pool of 6 amps in alarm or 3 amps during standby.

[object Object],200 mA Jumper Cutting jumper JP2 reduces the available current on the SLC loop in applications where this additional power is needed elsewhere. This restricts SLC operation to CLIP devices only. It is recommended that this jumper NEVER be cut.

[object Object],The optional KDM-R2 is an 80- character display and QWERTY programming keypad. It can be employed as a primary display for the NFS2-640. The KDM-R2 can also be used for programming of the CPU2-640. The KDM-R2 mounts directly on top of the CPU-640.

[object Object],Control Active This LED indicates when this panel has control of its local functions. It turns off when another panel or node on the network assumes control of this panel´s operations.

[object Object],POWER This LED is illuminated while sufficient AC power is applied. The LED extinguishes when a Brown Out condition is reached (line voltage is less than 102 VAC).

[object Object],PRE-DISCHARGE This LED lights when any of the releasing zones have been activated, but have not yet discharged a releasing agent.

[object Object],DISCHARGE This LED lights when any of the releasing zones are active and in the process of discharging a releasing agent. It turns off automatically when no releasing zones are discharging a releasing agent.

[object Object],FIRE ALARM LED This LED flashes when a non-acknowledge fire alarm(s) exists. It illuminates steadily after the first alarm has been acknowledged.

[object Object],PRE-ALARM LED This LED flashes when a non-acknowledged Pre-Alarm exists. It illuminates steadily after the first Pre-Alarm has been ackowledged.

[object Object],SECURITY This LED flashes when a non-acknowledged Security alarm(s) exists. It illuminates steadily after the Security alarm(s) exists. It illuminates after the first Security event has been acknowledged.

[object Object],SUPERVISORY This LED flashes when a non-acknowledged Security condition(s) exists. It illuminates steadily after the Security alarm(s) exists. It illuminates after the first Security condition has been acknowledged.

[object Object],SYSTEM TROUBLE This LED flashes when a non-acknowledged Security exist(s). It illuminates steadily after the first trouble has been acknowledged. This LED also stas illuminated while the panel is in Programming Mode.

[object Object],SIGNALS SILENCED This LED lights steadily after a fire alarm condition occurs and the SIGNAL SILENCE key has been pressed, silencing all outputs. This LED flashes to indicate that at least one non-silenceable output is still active.

[object Object],POINT DISABLED This LED lights when or more system devices are disabled.

[object Object],The optional NCA-2 is a network control annunciator that can alternatively be used as a 640 – character primary display for the NFS2-640. When used as a display the NCA-2 will not function as a network annunciator and does not requiere a network control module – it connects directly to the NFS2-640 via a NUP cable. The NCA-2 mounts directly on top of the CPU2-640 using two brackets provided in the NCA/640-2-KIT.
