This is a presentation made by a group of students at CIC about Deconstructivism style in architecture, i hope you find it useful, if you want to know about this style.

3. Definition
In linguistics:
• Deconstructivism is a derivative of deconstruction
• which means :fragmentation of separation
• Construction: building as a whole piece
• Deconstruction: convert the whole
piece into pieces
4. Definition Con’t
In Architecture:
• Deconstructivism is an architectural idea or style expressed or developed the
post-modernism architecture that begin in late 1950s.
• It’s characterized by separation and fragmentation.
• It gives a feeling of disorder of the geometry
5. History
• Deconstruction appeared as a theoretical idea by the French philosopher
Jacques Derrida.
• Architects took this idea and translated into architecture by developed the
Deconstructivism style in 1950s.
• This style came into public in 1988 when Deconstructivist Architecture
exhibition in New York.
6. History Con’t
• the 1989 opening of the Wexner Center for the Arts in Columbus, designed by
Peter Eisenman.
8. Zaha Hadid
Philosophy:
“She want to discover and invent a new way in architecture and urban
planning to flow with contemporary cities and the lives of people live in these
cities.”
11. Peter Eisenman
Philosophy:
“He is a formalist and deconstructivist who makes certain fragmentation in his
projects which pursues the form of European modernism rather than traditional
planning styles. His projects refer to a relationship between him and French
philosopher Jacques Derrida.”
14. Catia
Computer Aided three-dimensional Interactive Application
- Architect Frank Gehry
- Guggenheim Museum Bilbao.
-CATIA is a new visual interface suitable for architecture work.
-their own parametric design software
based on their experience with CATIA.
15. Autodesk Revit
Building information modeling (BIM) software used by architects and other building professionals.
Autodesk Revit Architecture offers many other tools and features as Physical Materials for Building
Performance Analysis.
16. Autodesk 3Ds Max
Is a parametric 3D modeling software which provides a comprehensive modeling, animation, simulation,
and rendering solution for games, film, and motion graphics artists.
3Ds Max uses the concept of modifiers and wired parameters to control its geometry.
17. Autodesk Maya
Is a 3D computer graphics software originally used to create interactive 3D applications, including visual
effects.
18. Grasshopper 3D
Developed by Robert McNeel & Associates
Grasshopper is primarily used to build generative algorithms and show it in Rhinoceros 3D
Many of Grasshopper's components create 3D geometry.Programs may also contain other types of
algorithms including numeric, textual, etc
