2. PSYCHOLOGY INTERVIEW
WHAT DO YOU THINK ARE THE NEGATIVE
EFFECTS OF SOCIAL NETWORKING?
We asked this as the first question to ease into the
negative part of our documentary. This would
enable the interviewee to state their initial ideas that
they could later expand on during the rest of their
interview. We also thought it was a good opening
for the Psychologist to explain what the main
negative aspects of Social Networking are.
3. PSYCHOLOGY INTERVIEW
DO YOU THINK SOCIAL NETWORKING
PROVIDES A FALSE SENSE OF REALITY?
(RELATIONSHIPS WITH OTHERS)
It is constantly in the media about ‘do you really
know who you are talking to?’ whether you’re
talking to somebody who is pretending to be
somebody else or whether it’s someone you kind of
know (a friend of a friend) but you wouldn’t really
talk to in real life. Therefore, we felt this an
important question in order to address the main
negative aspect of Social Networking. It also brings
to attention the seriousness of problems that can
arise as a result of Social Media sites.
4. PSYCHOLOGY INTERVIEW
IS THERE ANY CHANGE IN THE PSYCHOLOGICAL
DEVELOPMENT OF EARLY TEENAGERS DUE TO THE
INFLUENCE OF SOCIAL NETWORKING THAN THERE
WOULD HAVE BEEN 20 YEARS AGO?
We thought this was also a serious question that
addresses the main argument against Social Networking.
It is well known that children ‘grow up’ faster than 20 years
ago in relation to make up, the way they dress, drinking
and even sexual interactions. Although, it is society
changing we were hoping to get an answer of whether this
change in society can be put down to the internet. With
bullying and peer pressure being easier with Social
Networking with anonymous sites, it can be to blame for a
lot of problems.
5. PSYCHOLOGY INTERVIEW
IS SOCIAL NETWORKING HAVING AN EFFECT
ON STUDENTS PRODUCTIVITY AT COLLEGE
OR UNIVERSITY?
As we spoke to a student in our documentary and
we aimed the documentary at the younger
generation we thought this was an important
question. The younger generation are also have
the highest percentage of people on Social
Networking so it was essential that we asked a
question on Students. We asked about productivity
because of how easy Social Networking is to
access at college/university with smart phones etc.
6. BUSINESS INTERVIEW
HOW MUCH OF AN ADVANTAGE ARE SOCIAL
NETWORKING SITES TO BUSINESSES?
Again we asked this as the first question similarly to
the Psychology interview because it introduces the
topic of conversation. It also allows Dave to
express the advantages of Social Networking in
detail which he could relate back to during his
interview.
7. BUSINESS INTERVIEW
IN TODAY’S DAY & AGE DO YOU THINK IT’S
ESSENTIAL FOR INDEPENDENT BUSINESSES
TO HAVE A SOCIAL NETWORKING PAGE?
We say ‘in today’s day and age’ because we are
again referring to the change in society with the
influence of the internet. We also go on to say
Independent businesses because for new
businesses it is an easy way of advertising and
building a reputation for yourselves.
8. BUISNESS INTERVIEW
DO YOU THINK SOCIAL NETWORKING IS A KEY
ASPECT IN TODAY’S SOCIETY?
Although this doesn’t directly relate to businesses,
we asked it because it highlights the importance
Social Networking has and also doesn’t make the
interview boring (talking about business the whole
time). As a business man, he would link this to his
business anyway as that it the focus of the
interview but it also gives a little contrast to the rest
of the conversation. It’s business based but not
solely about business as the question allows him to
go into more detail.
9. BUSINESS INTERVIEW
DO YOU PERSONALLY USE SOCIAL
NETWORKING SITES AND WHAT FOR?
We asked this question because it gave a nice
contrast to the interview rather than talking solely
about businesses. It was nice to see him in a
different light to just a businessman and this
allowed him to express him own personal opinion
on Social Networking. Therefore, making it a
balanced argument throughout the documentary.
10. MEDIA INTERVIEW
We asked the media teacher a two questions from
the Psychology interview and two questions from
the Business interview. As he was a less important
interview, we decided to mix the questions so that it
gave a balanced argument from both sides of the
documentary. We also decided to ask the least
‘expert’ questions so the questions that least related
to Psychology and Business. The question we
asked the Media teacher were: (next slide)
