The document summarizes the process of creating the front cover, contents page, and double page article for a magazine. For the front cover, the model photo was edited and text/sections were positioned conventionally. The contents page followed the layout design and included the masthead, subscription box, sections, and a cover image. For the double page article, a main image was added to the black background.

2. FRONT COVER
The first step in creating my front
cover was to set place the masthead
on in the conventional position. I
then took a photo of my model in
front of a brick wall. This was then
roughly placed in the position my
research showed conventional.
The image was edited to be lighter
than the original shot as the colours
were to saturated in its unedited
form.
3. The next step in the creation of my cover
was to place black bars across the top and
bottom of the page to create a place for
white text.
I also positioned the main band name just
under my model’s head. This position was
effective as the model’s face is not blocked
at all by the band’s name, as such the story
would be one of the first things a reader
would see on the page.
4. I continue to build up a conventionally
following magazine poster by having
other stories in a smaller font size as not
to distract from the main article.
However, the minor stories are in two
separate colours to allow the reader to
easily distinguish between stories. They
also have a outer glow effect so they can
be easily legible against my model.
I also add the Plus section at the
bottom, which is another conventional
section of a magazine. This is combined
with the tour information at the top of
the magazine to fill in negative space.
5. To finish off my front cover I
followed the codes of a magazine
cover by having a bar code on the
lower left side of my cover. This is
in conjunction with the price and
date and the rest of the cover create
a very professional looking piece.
6. CONTENTS
I started creating my contents page by
following my layout design. This led me
to just place my masthead and
subscription box at the bottom.
I decided to have a subscription box as it
was a conventional way of advertising a
magazine’s own product within itself.
7. At this stage I added a black bar to
highlight the text within but also to
continue the use of them on my front
cover.
To follow convention I added a web
address inside as I had not advertised
one on the cover.
I then filled in the black subscription
box with white and red text. I used
the red to emphasise the price for a
monthly subscription and the “go to”
so readers’ would look straight to the
website.
8. At this stage I added in the sections of my
contents page. I used the conventional
segments of News, Reviews, Features and
Live, and these segments take up majority
of the page.
Each sections has a larger text size and is
in red to show it is the beginning of a new
segment . The page numbers are also in
red as the reader would find them easier is
find and read.
9. In the final stage of constructing my
contents page I placed an image of my
front cover in the subscription box as
conventionally magazines show one of
their covers in this area.
I also added an image of my sister
attended and placed it above the Live
section to show the type of events it
would be talking about. Also
conventionally music magazine have an
image of a gig on the contents page.
10. DOUBLE PAGE ARTICLE
To create my double page spread I
made the white background black
and added a main image
