    Technology and
      Education
Calendars and events are easy to share. Through this
tool, we can remind students of important dates.
Students are connected. Students are checking
Facebook multiple times per day.
Almost every
      student is
   familiarized with
Facebook, and most
 of them are excited
to be able to use the
site for collaborative
       learning.
Online resources. Posting links on your classroom
wall makes it easier for students to read them.
Students who can’t attend to the class can stay
updated using the Classroom Facebook group.

Facebook help students practice the skills they need
to be successful in the 21st century.
Facebook encourages
collaboration. Students
can speak up and work
together on Facebook,
even those who are
shy in the classroom.
Class resources are
available anywhere.
Students can read
notes and assignments
anywhere they can find
Internet connection.
Debates can be
encountered online.
Extend classroom
discussions onto
Facebook, where
students can spend
more time in active
learning and debate.
Students can create, posting discussions, resources,
and more. They can learn the importance of
creating content.
Teachers can use Facebook to associate better
students’ names, faces, interests, background and
personalities.
Ask questions of our class on Facebook and get easy
answers using polling tools on this website.
We can find tons of applications for classroom
learning, including mathematical formulas,
slideshow apps, notes, and more..
The use of Facebook
limits face-to-face
communication. Too
much technological
input can have a
negative effect on
social skills that
children need to learn.
The risk of cyber bullying.
Some students'
parents may not
want their
children going on
this site.
Inappropriate content sharing or exposure. It is
important for children in school to be protected; but
it is also necessary for teachers to monitor what
they are sharing between themselves.
Facebook is spoiling the value of relationship as it is
built and maintained through a website. Youngsters
may confuse real friends with acquaintances.
It can easily become an addiction.
Facebook can be
distracting in the
classroom. It could
be ultimately
disruptive to the
learning process.
Are you in favor of or against the
use of Facebook in the classroom?
