Employees from Harrah's New Orleans have been volunteering at Second Harvest's food bank warehouse since 2011, sorting and processing donated food and holding fundraising events. To date, their efforts have helped provide over 124,000 meals through sorting over 149,000 pounds of food, filling over 1,000 volunteer hours. Their dunk tank fundraiser raised $3,100 for Second Harvest to supply 7,750 additional meals to the community. Second Harvest distributes over 24 million pounds of food annually, equivalent to 20 million meals, to help the one in six Louisiana households facing hunger.
