3. The majority of the EEHA were first time inspections. The team consisted of three Inspectors
being responsible for over 10000 items of Electrical Equipment within various Zones.
During this time I was responsible for the creation of new databases and records to ensure
compliance with AS standards and that newly installed items were inspected as per AS60079.
During the 3 years I was onsite, there had been a considerable turnover in team Inspectors and I
was responsible for new employee Inductions and training including development of their skills
to DLNG Standards and SAP.
In addition I was required to ensure all new employees were fully versant in all database
management and other relevant processes and procedures.
Working as an autonomous team without direct supervision or reporting to management we
were fully accountable for planning, preparation, inspections, repairs and close out of work
orders.

My position as a cable joiner with Monadelphous involved running cables through underground
tunnels below Darwin City. This required installation of cable runs up to 3km in length, cable
sizes up to 600mm2 HV cable. These cables were joined at intervals of 500m and terminated at
each end into The Power Authorities switchgear.
