environment for over 9 years and has predominately worked for Western Power Distribution on various
projects. I have worked my way up from a ganger to site foreman, supervisor and now Field Engineer /

circuit installment.
Western Power Distribution – Shrewsbury 132kV, built an new switching house and installed trough
work and pulled in new cable to switch room
Western Power Distribution – Corby 132Kv, Decommissioning of oil filled 132kV cable and installment
of new 132kV XLPE x 2 Circuits
Western Power Distribution – Bixhead 33kV, 3 x circuits running from new switch room through the
forest of dean and terminated and newly installed H poles.

Specific Project role and responsibilities
Current Role Description:
To provide support both to the client and the team designated on the project, to ensure all employees are
fully aware of the works due to be undertaken and are competent to do so, I ensure all Risk Assessments
and Method Statements conform to the clients and company needs and are approved prior to work
commencing. Organise the site set up alongside the site manager/supervisor and ensure its set up
correctly to CDM / CPP regulations, Problems solve as and when any may arise and ensure a solution is
put forward to the client to resolve the issue.

High standard of professionalism of any civil or associated works for the project works
Delivering high productivity in a safe and efficient manner, ensuring that all work is conducted safely
and in compliance with company policies
Overview of day-to-day operations
Recruitment of any specialist skilled personnel required
Procurement of specialist plant & equipment
Supply Chain Management; developing supplier relationships
Identifying training requirements for OU staff and operatives
Preparation of operational reports
Cost management & financial reporting
Promote a professional image on the site
Proactively motivate and develop the workforce encouraging good communication and team work
Work closely with the project delivery team to ensure that all processes and activities are carried and
completed in accordance with the approved procedures
Prioritise own workload in order to meet project deadline without comprising quality standards
Create and maintain good communication and relationships with, client, suppliers, councils, staff and
members of the public and any agencies
Understand the scope of works, programme of works with the activities to meet delivery timescales
Assess the level of risk and identify any health and safety risks! financial risks and the development of
the associated contingency plans
