The number of new hotels and new hotel rooms are increasing in 2014 after a
slow 2013. Number of hotel rooms in Denmark are increasing with more than 1
000 and Norway are up with more than 2 000. Hotel rooms in Sweden are
increasing with 1 200 which is a little bit less than in 2013. Only one new hotel
is tracked in Finland in 2014 and it is adding 87 new rooms in Helsinki.

A total of 21 new hotels in Nordic countries are opening during 2014 adding 4
463 new hotel rooms to market. Not a record year (5 416 rooms in 2012) but
more than doubled the number of new hotel rooms compared to 2013. The third
tower at Gothia towers in Gothenburg is the largest of hotels opening in 2014
(500 rooms) together with Wakeup hotel in Copenhagen (498 rooms)
