GENDER, PLURAL, POSSESSIVE,
COMMON AND PROPER NOUNS
4. Possessive Nouns
Demonstrate ownership or some similar
relationship over something else.
Possessive nouns typically include an apostrophe.
Examples:
The book belongs to Asyikin
(Asyikin’s Book)
The bottle belongs to Halim
(Halim’s Bottle)
5. Plural Nouns
Referring to more than one thing, person and
place.
Examples:
I have a collection of dresses in my wardrobe.
There are cockroaches under the box.
She has four children from her first marriage
6. Proper Nouns
Proper nouns:
names of a specific person, place or things.
Always capitalise the first letter of a proper noun.
Examples:
Kuala Lumpur is filled with unethical drivers.
Mr.Kamil is a good looking man.
7. Common Nouns
the word used for a class of person, place or
thing.
only capitalised when they start a sentence.
Examples: Car, Man, Bridge, Town, Water, Metal.
