Maslow’s Hierarchy of needs There are 5 types of needs categorised by Maslow: Psychological Needs Safety Needs Belonging and Love needs Self Esteem Needs Self Actualisation Maslow deems that society self actualises in different ways, and thinks that we all try to seek fulfilment and change through personal growth. Therefore, in order for us to grow, we have to go through different stages of progression until we reach to the peak. My product embodies Maslow’s needs as it portrays the protagonists need of ‘Belonging and Love’ as well as her ‘Self Esteem Needs’ and ‘Psychological Needs’.
3. Tzvetan Todorov Equilibrium > Disequilibrium > New Equilibrium Todorov believed that narratives should start with an equilibrium in which life is viewed as normal. This means that the idea of ‘normal´ is disturbed by an outside force that changes everything to the opposite therefore, in order to turn things around, it has to be fought against in order for things to go back to normal (equilibrium). My product embodies Todrov’s theory as the disequilibrium gradually gets worse throughout the film.

The helper who aids the hero and his/her quest 5. The heroine/princess who acts as a reward for the hero and is the object of the villain’s schemes 6. The dispatcher who sends the hero on his/her way by providing a message 7. The false hero who disrupts the hero’s hope of reward by pressing false claims 8. The princess/heroine’s father who acts to reward the hero for his efforts My product embodies the hero and the villain and the villain serves a trigger for the hero to go off the rails and lose confidence in herself, furthermore leading her to be a social outcast.
