2. Dr David Livingstone was the first European in Victoria Falls.
He was a doctor and a missionary He was from Scotland and
named the waterfalls after the Queen Victoria of United
Kingdom and Empress of India.
The local name of Victoria Falls is «The smoke that thunders
(Mosi-oa-Tunya). The natives used this name because of the
spray from the drops of water, and the great noise of the
waterfall.
The Victoria Falls Bridge crosses the Zambezi River. As the river is
the border between Zambia and Zimbabwe, the bridge links the
two countries.
Victoria Falls are beautiful and you can see the rainbow during the
day and the moonbow at night when it is full moon.
You can visit the falls in a jetboat or from the air in a helicopter
You can practise adventure sports like bungee jumping from the
bridge.
