    1. Love The Lord Your God
      • Something jumped off the pages at me in this weeks reading. We’re going to read several verses from 9 chapters today.
    2. Love The Lord Your God
      • Instead of me or Commentaries explaining the Scriptures, I’ll let them explain themselves. I bet you see what I saw.
    3. Love The Lord Your God
      • Deuteronomy 4:29 NET But if you seek the LORD your God from there, you will find him, if, indeed, you seek him with all your heart and soul.
    4. Love The Lord Your God
      • Deuteronomy 5:32 NET Be careful, therefore, to do exactly what the LORD your God has commanded you; do not turn right or left!
    5. Love The Lord Your God
      • 33 Walk just as he has commanded you so that you may live, that it may go well with you, and that you may live long in the land you are going to possess.
    6. Love The Lord Your God
      • Deuteronomy 6:4 NET Listen, Israel: The LORD is our God, the LORD is one! 5 You must love the LORD your God with your whole mind, your whole being, and all your strength.
    7. Teach Your Children
      • 6 These words I am commanding you today must be kept in mind, 7 and you must teach them to your children and speak of them as you sit in your house,
    8. Teach Your Children
      • as you walk along the road, as you lie down, and as you get up. 8 You should tie them as a reminder on your forearm and fasten them as symbols on your forehead.
    9. Teach Your Children
      • 9 Inscribe them on the doorframes of your houses and gates.
    10. Love The Lord Your God
      • Deuteronomy 8:18 NET You must remember the LORD your God, for he is the one who gives ability to get wealth;
    11. Love The Lord Your God
      • if you do this he will confirm his covenant that he made by oath to your ancestors, even as he has to this day.
    12. Love The Lord Your God
      • Deuteronomy 10:12 NET Now, Israel, what does the LORD your God require of you except to revere him, to obey all his commandments, to love him,
    13. Love The Lord Your God
      • to serve him with all your mind and being, 13 and to keep the LORD's commandments and statutes that I am giving you today for your own good?
    14. Love The Lord Your God
      • 14 The heavens — indeed the highest heavens — belong to the LORD your God, as does the earth and everything in it.
    15. Love The Lord Your God
      • Deuteronomy 11:1 NET You must love the LORD your God and do what he requires; keep his statutes, ordinances, and commandments at all times.
    16. Love The Lord Your God
      • Deuteronomy 11:13 NET Now, if you pay close attention to my commandments that I am giving you today and love the LORD your God and serve him with all your mind and being,
    17. Love The Lord Your God

    18. Teach Your Children

    19. Teach Your Children
      • 19 Teach them to your children and speak of them as you sit in your house, as you walk along the way, as you lie down, and as you get up.
    20. Teach Your Children
      • 20 Inscribe them on the doorframes of your houses and on your gates 21 so that your days and those of your descendants may be extended
    21. Teach Your Children
      • in the land which the LORD promised to give to your ancestors, like the days of heaven itself.
    22. Love The Lord Your God
      • 22 For if you carefully observe all of these commandments I am giving you and love the LORD your God, live according to his standards,
    23. Love The Lord Your God
      • and remain loyal to him, 23 then he will drive out all these nations ahead of you, and you will dispossess nations greater and stronger than you.
    24. Love The Lord Your God
      • Deuteronomy 13:1 NET Suppose a prophet or one who foretells by dreams should appear among you and show you a sign or wonder,
    25. Love The Lord Your God
      • 2 and the sign or wonder should come to pass concerning what he said to you, namely, "Let us follow other gods" — gods whom you have not previously known — "and let us serve them ."
    26. Love The Lord Your God
      • 3 You must not listen to the words of that prophet or dreamer, for the LORD your God will be testing you to see if you love him with all your mind and being.
    27. Love The Lord Your God
      • 4 You must follow the LORD your God and revere only him; and you must observe his commandments, obey him, serve him, and remain loyal to him.
    28. Love The Lord Your God
      • Deuteronomy 15:4 NET However, there should not be any poor among you, for the LORD will surely bless you in the land that he is giving you as an inheritance,
    29. Love The Lord Your God
      • 5 if you carefully obey him by keeping all these commandments that I am giving you today. 6a For the LORD your God will bless you just as he has promised;
    30. Love The Lord Your God
      • Deuteronomy 19:8 NET If the LORD your God enlarges your borders as he promised your ancestors and gives you all the land he pledged to them,
    31. Love The Lord Your God
      • 9a,b and then you are careful to observe all these commandments I am giving you today (namely, to love the LORD your God and to always walk in his ways),
    32. The Greatest Commandment
      • Did you see what was repeated in these 9 chapters?
      • It was non-other than
      • The Greatest Commandment!
    33. The Greatest Commandment
      • Mark 12:28 NET Now one of the experts in the law came and heard them debating. When he saw that Jesus answered them well, he asked him,
    34. The Greatest Commandment
      • "Which commandment is the most important of all?" 29 Jesus answered, "The most important is: ' Listen, Israel, the Lord our God, the Lord is one.
    35. The Greatest Commandment
      • 30 Love the Lord your God with all your heart, with all your soul, with all your mind, and with all your strength .'
    36. The Greatest Commandment
      • 31 The second is: ' Love your neighbor as yourself .' There is no other commandment greater than these."
    37. The Greatest Commandment
      • 32 The expert in the law said to him, "That is true, Teacher; you are right to say that he is one, and there is no one else besides him .
    38. The Greatest Commandment
      • 33 And to love him with all your heart, with all your mind, and with all your strength
    39. The Greatest Commandment
      • and to love your neighbor as yourself is more important than all burnt offerings and sacrifices."
    40. The Greatest Commandment
      • 34 When Jesus saw that he had answered thoughtfully, he said to him, "You are not far from the kingdom of God." Then no one dared any longer to question him.
    41. Love For God & His Children
      • 1 John 4:19 NET We love because he loved us first. 20 If anyone says "I love God" and yet hates his fellow Christian, he is a liar,
    42. Love For God & His Children
      • because the one who does not love his fellow Christian whom he has seen cannot love God whom he has not seen.
    43. Love For God & His Children
      • 21 And the commandment we have from him is this: that the one who loves God should love his fellow Christian too.
    44. Love For God & His Children
      • 5:1 Everyone who believes that Jesus is the Christ has been fathered by God, and everyone who loves the father loves the child fathered by him .
    45. Love For God & His Children
      • 2 By this we know that we love the children of God: whenever we love God and obey his commandments.
    46. Love For God & His Children
      • 3 For this is the love of God: that we keep his commandments. And his commandments do not weigh us down,
    47. Love For God & His Children
      • 4 because everyone who has been fathered by God conquers the world. This is the conquering power that has conquered the world: our faith
    48. Love For God & His Children
      • 5 Now who is the person who has conquered the world except the one who believes that Jesus is the Son of God?
    49. God’s Commandment
      • 1 John 3:23 NET Now this is his commandment: that we believe in the name of his Son Jesus Christ and love one another, just as he gave us the commandment.
    50. God’s Commandment
      • 24 And the person who keeps his commandments resides in God, and God in him. Now by this we know that God resides in us: by the Spirit he has given us.
    51. God’s Commandment
      • Our faith in Jesus, God’s Son & loving each other, these are the sum of God’s commandments.
      • In obedience to the sum of God’s commandments,
    52. God’s Commandment
      • He is in us and we are in Him. Our proof is The Spirit He has given us. You’ve read many times the verse where the gift is promised, Acts 2:38
