(Ephesians 4:12-15). To help Christians to "to grow up in all aspects into Him who is the head, even Christ." So that "we are no longer...tossed here and
there...by every wind of doctrine." They may be downloaded and modified free of charge.
Matthew 10:8 …Freely you received, freely give.
4. Deuteronomy 10:10,
Moses’ Intercession Worked
• NAU Deuteronomy 10:10 "I, moreover, stayed
on the mountain forty days and forty nights like
the first time, and the LORD listened to me
that time also; the LORD was not willing to
destroy you.
• God repeatedly tells them that it is not their
righteousness that saves them or gives them
the land, but His promises to Abraham Isaac
and Jacob He will keep.

5. Deuteronomy 10:12,
What Does God Require Of His Servants
• NAU Deuteronomy 10:12 "Now, Israel, what does
the LORD your God require from you, but to fear the
LORD your God, to walk in all His ways and love
Him, and to serve the LORD your God with all your
heart and with all your soul, 13 and to keep the
LORD's commandments and His statutes which I am
commanding you today for your good?
• Five specific points! We should take six months of
studying on each point. Or better yet make it your
life’s assignment.
6. Deuteronomy 10:12,
Get Up, Get Going, Serve The Lord
• NAU Deuteronomy 10:12… serve the LORD your
God with all your heart and with all your soul,
• God wants his servants to serve him.
• NAU Luke 4:8 Jesus answered him, "It is written,
'YOU SHALL WORSHIP THE LORD YOUR GOD AND
SERVE HIM ONLY.'"
• NAU Luke 16:13 "No servant can serve two
masters… You cannot serve God and wealth.”
• NAU Acts 24:14… I do serve the God of our fathers
7. Deuteronomy 10:12,
Get Up, Get Going, Serve The Lord
• Every Christian needs to wake up in the morning, jump out of bed, and say
what do you want of me today LORD? We need to take the initiative to
start. You can't steer a boat that's not moving.
• When a waitress is serving you, you do not expect to have to go find her in
the break room and tell her what to do. You expect she will do her job to
serve you. She should be attentive to your needs, asking what you would
prefer, and moving to serve you. Not sitting around waiting for you to
come find her to tell her what to do. A few biblical warnings would be;
• NAU 1 Timothy 4:14 Do not neglect the spiritual gift within you..
• NAU 1 Timothy 5:10 having a reputation for good works; and if she has
brought up children, if she has shown hospitality to strangers, if she has
washed the saints' feet, if she has assisted those in distress, and if she has
devoted herself to every good work.
8. Deuteronomy 10:12,
Get Up, Get Going, Serve The Lord
• NAU 1 Timothy 5:17 The elders who rule well are to be considered
worthy of double honor, especially those who work hard at
preaching and teaching.
• NAU 2 Timothy 2:21 …a vessel for honor, sanctified, useful to the
Master, prepared for every good work.
• NAU 2 Timothy 3:17 so that the man of God may be adequate,
equipped for every good work.
• NAU 2 Timothy 4:5…be sober in all things, endure hardship, do
the work of an evangelist, fulfill your ministry.
• Every Christian is in the full-time ministry! If you are not serving
Christ, you are not obeying Christ.
9. SERVE, FINDING A VOLUNTEER TO BE
CHURCH TREASURER
NAU Deuteronomy 10:12… serve the LORD…
Pete Marcaccini says that, “Finding a volunteer
to be church treasurer is always a challenge. But
after reading the church's Annual Report, I was
not surprised to hear several members express
interest in the position. The outgoing treasurer
had concluded her report with: "It has truly been
my pleasure to work with the church finances. I
have received far more than I ever gave.”
Skimming Off the Top?

10. Deuteronomy 10:14,
God (LORD, YHWH) Owns It All

• NAU Ephesians 2:2…the prince of the power of the air, of the spirit
that is now working in the sons of disobedience.

of the unbelieving so that they might not see the light of the gospel
of the glory of Christ, who is the image of God.
• Good news! NAU John 12:31…the ruler of this world will be cast out.
10
11. Deuteronomy 10:16
Circumcise Your Heart
• NAU Deuteronomy 10:16 "So circumcise your heart,
and stiffen your neck no longer.
• “circumcise”= cutaway all uncleanness, be
separate, be holy
• MacArthur Study Bible, Page 266, says, "Moses
called the Israelites to cut away all the sin in their
hearts, as the circumcision surgery cut away the
skin. This would leave them with a clean
relationship to God (cf. 30:6; Lev. 26:40, 41; Jer.
4:4; 9:25; Romans 2:29)…"
11
12. Deuteronomy 10:16
Circumcise Your Heart
• NAU Deuteronomy 10:16…circumcise your
heart…
• This is the first use of this word “circumcise” in
the NAU.
12
13. Deuteronomy 10:16
Stiff-Necked No Longer
• NKJ Deuteronomy 10:16 … be stiff-necked no longer.

your fathers, but yield to the LORD…
• NAU Acts 7:51 "You men who are stiff-necked and

• We must reflect God's character regard to this. We must treat our
employees fairly pay them properly for the work they perform,
employees must be fair with the work that they perform for the wage
they receive. We must treat all people impartially, and respectfully.
• NAU Malachi 3:5 "Then I will draw near to you for judgment; and I will
be a swift witness against… those who swear falsely, and against those
who oppress the wage earner in his wages, the widow and the orphan,
and those who turn aside the alien and do not fear Me," says the LORD
of hosts.
15. Deuteronomy 10:17, God Is Impartial
• NAU 1 Timothy 5:18 For the Scripture says, "YOU SHALL NOT
MUZZLE THE OX WHILE HE IS THRESHING," and "The laborer is
worthy of his wages."
• NAU Deuteronomy 1:17 'You shall not show partiality in
judgment; you shall hear the small and the great alike. You shall
not fear man, for the judgment is God’s….
• NAU Job 13:10 "He will surely reprove you If you secretly show
partiality.
• NAU Romans 2:11 For there is no partiality with God.

17

He Executes Justice
• NAU Deuteronomy 10:22 "Your fathers went
down to Egypt seventy [Genesis 46:26+27, Exodus 1:5,
Acts 7:14] persons in all, and now the LORD your
God has made you as numerous as the stars of
heaven.
• God multiplied them exceedingly in the 400
years captivity. God is keeping His promises to
Abraham. Most believe their population would
have been over 2 million people.
18

your God, who has done these great and awesome things

included the 66 mentioned in verse 26, plus Jacob, Joseph,
and Joseph's two sons, Manasseh and Ephraim (see also
Exodus 1:5; Deuteronomy 10:22). See note on Acts 7:14.
However, the total number, including wives of Jacob’s
sons and grandsons and husbands of his daughters and
granddaughters (not listed), would have been greater than
70.“
• Dr. Ryrie's note on Acts 7:14; “This number follows the
LXX, which arrived at 75 by including the son and grandson
of Manasseh and two sons and a grandson of Ephraim. See
note on Genesis 46:27, which reflects a different way of
numbering Jacob’s family, totaling 70."

A Very Special Generation
• NAU Deuteronomy 11:2 "Know this day that I am not speaking
with your sons who have not known and who have not seen the
discipline of the LORD your God-- His greatness, His mighty hand
and His outstretched arm,
• The children who had come out of Egypt, experienced the
wilderness wanderings for 40 years, God's supernatural provision
for them, are now being addressed as this very special group of
humans. They saw the class 1 miracles, experienced the discipline
and provision of the Lord, and watched as their parents passed
away. And now God is going to lead them in to conquer the
promised land.
• Every Christian also has experienced God's salvation, provision,
transformation, and chastisement. 23

land into which you are about to cross to possess it, a land
of hills and valleys, drinks water from the rain of heaven,
12 a land for which the LORD your God cares; the eyes of
the LORD your God are always on it, from the beginning

them when you sit in your house and when you walk along the
road and when you lie down and when you rise up. 20 "And you
shall write them on the doorposts of your house and on your
gates, 21 so that your days and the days of your sons may be
multiplied on the land which the LORD swore to your fathers to
give them, as long as the heavens remain above the earth.
• We also are obliged to teach God’s Word to our children and
grandchildren with every opportunity. We should set up, make,
and create opportunities to teach.
29
30. Deuteronomy 11:22, Conditional Or
Unconditional Covenant?
• NAU Deuteronomy 11:22 "For if you are careful to keep
all this commandment which I am commanding you to

the land, God's blessings rather than cursing’s, were all
