RESULTS AND OUTCOMES OF THE PROJECT GOING FOR GOLD 2011-2013
October 2011
A "NING" site will be set up to promote regular communication between participants. Each student will be able to provide evidence
of using the NING after each mobility. Video diaries, podcast, power-point presentations etc.
October 2011 On going evaluation of the project will be available on NING, eg. Livre d'Or for comments by all community members about meetings
October 2011 A protocol agreement of the safe use of the Internet will be available for parents, staff and students in all partner countries.
October 2012 A Healthy school health check guide will be available and certificates awarded to successful partner schools.
June 2013
The final visit will culminate in a public conference aimed at disseminating the benefits of the project to a wider audience and
showcasing the learning achieved.
July 2013 A minimum of 24 mobilities, involving staff and students ,from each school visiting each transnational partner school.
July 2013 All students would have the opportunity of living with a host family in another cultural setting
July 2013 All students will have taken part in activities which will have broadened their understanding of the opportunities that exist for
employment, sport & leisure in other countries. Evidence showcased on NING with video diaries, podcasts and other media.
July 2013 All staff will be able to report on examples of good practice they have observed and that they have adopted or intend to adopt in
their own teaching.
July 2013 All participants will have communicated with people from partner countries informally and formally in their mother tongue and in a
foreign language.
July 2013 All students will have made presentations to other participants, members of their school and wider community on how leisure and
sporting activities help develop healthy lifestyles and careers & economic opportunities in their own countries.
July 2013 All students will have produced a personal statement about " What I have learnt from the Comenius project".
July 2013 Improved ICT skill and digital competencies for staff and students.
July 2013 Final report and translations written by all the partners

DURING THE 2 YEARS OF THE PROJECT

THE COORDINATING SCHOOL : BRAUNTON SCHOOL AND COMMUNITY COLLEGE
1) The coordinating school will
- oversee the effective organization and responsibility for successful motilities, quality
control and continued dialogue between partners throughout the project (NING, chats,
videoconferences, Skype, letters, postcards and parcels)
- have a monthly contact with each partner school to review progress and provide up-dates
- contact each partner within two weeks of the mobility to check on progress
- share with partner schools their experiences of “healthy school”
- help to create “an own Comenius Healthy Schools Award” promoting sport, leisure, diet
and active citizenship
- organize training for the partnership during mobility visits
- organize an audit of competences before the first visit so that a training schedule can be
agreed
- ensure that there are curriculum activities to facilitate group work and collaboration
- invited staff, students and parents to join the NING community
- publish the report of each mobility on the NING site
- have overall responsibility for the NING and publish the progress on this site
- organize the European final conference in July 2013
- write the final report with all the partners 4

2) Each school will
- adopt a healthy schools and Internet safety policy
- report to school governing bodies, assemblies and curriculum enrichment days twice a
year
- develop school notice boards which are owned by the students and which become their
responsibility to update regularly
- prepare joint reports enable the use of IT facilities for the common delivery of
information to the proposed NING
- complete a 'Livre d'Or‘ as part of the on-going evaluation process.
- prepare school newsletters and websites to provide pupil feedback during mobilities
- prepare a report of each mobility - details of the country visited, the focus of the visit,
the activities that took place and any impact or outcomes that occurred
- publish the report on the school web-site and NING site
- send off the final report written and translated with all the partners
THE EUROPEAN PARTNER SCHOOLS
3) A wide range of students will
- participate actively in the proposed project partnership
- be involved in working out plans for particular stages of the partnership
- take responsibility for use of the proposed NING
- exchange information before their mobility as well as using it as an evaluation tool to
comment on aspects of the motilities that have been undertaken
- make specific 'video diaries' of their experiences and on different subjects
- increase linguistic and cultural awareness and use different language, particularly
English, in real life situations
4) Pupils from Special Educational Needs (SEN) and from different socio-economic groups
such as FSM (free school meals) will
- be actively engaged in the project and mobilities

STUDENTS
We will have
- press and TV coverage (we have experience of this as part of previous projects)
outlining visits, engagements etc.
- wider community involvement through the final conference in June 2013
- use and participation of local sporting and leisure facilities
- involvement of local sports people to give talks and master classes
- business breakfasts of local industries where students are introduced to world of work
- involvement of local employers to talk about skills they are looking for in their work
force
- use of careers conferences within appropriate partner countries

LOCAL COMMUNITIES
We will
- use website and the NING to showcase the experiences and outcomes achieved during
the project
- produce articles for appropriate journals
- share practice sessions within learning communities
- disseminate results and informations at conferences within each European
country/region
- disseminate informations where applicable to Local Authority bodies and Government
agencies
- develop Case Study example available for use by other organisations/schools

WIDER LIFELONG LEARNING COMMUNITY
DURING EACH TRANSNATIONAL MOBILITY

1) The host partnerschool will
- organise a planned programme for the visit
- ensure students and teachers participate in lessons
- arrange a project meeting to
- review previous work and NING content
- make evaluations/questionnaires to be completed one month after each mobility
- help each school to produce video diary with a specific curriculum aim (e.g. sporting
activities across the partnership, UK Olympics in 2012 will be a common bond of all
participants in the project.
DURING EACH TRANSNATIONAL MOBILITY

2) All partner schools will
- host a project meeting involving 20-30 students and about 10 staff
- enable the use of IT facilities for the common delivery of information to the proposed
NING
- complete a 'Livre d'Or‘ as part of the on-going evaluation process.
- prepare school newsletters and websites to provide pupil feedback on experiences
during mobilities
- prepare a report of each mobility - details of the country visited, the focus of the visit,
the activities that took place and any impact or outcomes that occurred.
- will provide real sources of information and data : healthy school data, careers guidance,
sporting activities, photograph competition, interviews of sportsmen and women which
can be used by teachers in their lessons
- publish the report on the school web-site and NING site
- make video diaries providing an on-going record of the project progress

3) Host families will
- have an important part to play in the transnational mobilities
- give the students of the different partner schools the possibility to gain experiences by
living with their host for a short period of time. This experience should not be overlooked
or underestimated
- give their feedback in a questionnaire which will be standard for all partner schools
- help build further the partnerships between schools and parents

  • 2. RESULTS AND OUTCOMES OF THE PROJECT GOING FOR GOLD 2011-2013 October 2011 A "NING" site will be set up to promote regular communication between participants. Each student will be able to provide evidence of using the NING after each mobility. Video diaries, podcast, power-point presentations etc. October 2011 On going evaluation of the project will be available on NING, eg. Livre d'Or for comments by all community members about meetings October 2011 A protocol agreement of the safe use of the Internet will be available for parents, staff and students in all partner countries. October 2012 A Healthy school health check guide will be available and certificates awarded to successful partner schools. June 2013 The final visit will culminate in a public conference aimed at disseminating the benefits of the project to a wider audience and showcasing the learning achieved. July 2013 A minimum of 24 mobilities, involving staff and students ,from each school visiting each transnational partner school. July 2013 All students would have the opportunity of living with a host family in another cultural setting July 2013 All students will have taken part in activities which will have broadened their understanding of the opportunities that exist for employment, sport & leisure in other countries. Evidence showcased on NING with video diaries, podcasts and other media. July 2013 All staff will be able to report on examples of good practice they have observed and that they have adopted or intend to adopt in their own teaching. July 2013 All participants will have communicated with people from partner countries informally and formally in their mother tongue and in a foreign language. July 2013 All students will have made presentations to other participants, members of their school and wider community on how leisure and sporting activities help develop healthy lifestyles and careers & economic opportunities in their own countries. July 2013 All students will have produced a personal statement about " What I have learnt from the Comenius project". July 2013 Improved ICT skill and digital competencies for staff and students.   • 3. DURING THE 2 YEARS OF THE PROJECT 3

THE COORDINATING SCHOOL : BRAUNTON SCHOOL AND COMMUNITY COLLEGE 1) The coordinating school will - oversee the effective organization and responsibility for successful motilities, quality control and continued dialogue between partners throughout the project (NING, chats, videoconferences, Skype, letters, postcards and parcels) - have a monthly contact with each partner school to review progress and provide up-dates - contact each partner within two weeks of the mobility to check on progress - share with partner schools their experiences of “healthy school” - help to create “an own Comenius Healthy Schools Award” promoting sport, leisure, diet and active citizenship - organize training for the partnership during mobility visits - organize an audit of competences before the first visit so that a training schedule can be agreed - ensure that there are curriculum activities to facilitate group work and collaboration - invited staff, students and parents to join the NING community - publish the report of each mobility on the NING site - have overall responsibility for the NING and publish the progress on this site - organize the European final conference in July 2013 - write the final report with all the partners 4
  • 5. 5 2) Each school will - adopt a healthy schools and Internet safety policy - report to school governing bodies, assemblies and curriculum enrichment days twice a year - develop school notice boards which are owned by the students and which become their responsibility to update regularly - prepare joint reports enable the use of IT facilities for the common delivery of information to the proposed NING - complete a 'Livre d'Or‘ as part of the on-going evaluation process. - prepare school newsletters and websites to provide pupil feedback during mobilities - prepare a report of each mobility - details of the country visited, the focus of the visit, the activities that took place and any impact or outcomes that occurred - publish the report on the school web-site and NING site - send off the final report written and translated with all the partners THE EUROPEAN PARTNER SCHOOLS
  • 6. 3) A wide range of students will - participate actively in the proposed project partnership - be involved in working out plans for particular stages of the partnership - take responsibility for use of the proposed NING - exchange information before their mobility as well as using it as an evaluation tool to comment on aspects of the motilities that have been undertaken - make specific 'video diaries' of their experiences and on different subjects - increase linguistic and cultural awareness and use different language, particularly English, in real life situations 4) Pupils from Special Educational Needs (SEN) and from different socio-economic groups such as FSM (free school meals) will - be actively engaged in the project and mobilities 6 STUDENTS

We will have - press and TV coverage (we have experience of this as part of previous projects) outlining visits, engagements etc. - wider community involvement through the final conference in June 2013 - use and participation of local sporting and leisure facilities - involvement of local sports people to give talks and master classes - business breakfasts of local industries where students are introduced to world of work - involvement of local employers to talk about skills they are looking for in their work force - use of careers conferences within appropriate partner countries 7 LOCAL COMMUNITIES

We will - use website and the NING to showcase the experiences and outcomes achieved during the project - produce articles for appropriate journals - share practice sessions within learning communities - disseminate results and informations at conferences within each European country/region - disseminate informations where applicable to Local Authority bodies and Government agencies - develop Case Study example available for use by other organisations/schools 8 WIDER LIFELONG LEARNING COMMUNITY
  • 10. 1) The host partnerschool will - organise a planned programme for the visit - ensure students and teachers participate in lessons - arrange a project meeting to - review previous work and NING content - make evaluations/questionnaires to be completed one month after each mobility - help each school to produce video diary with a specific curriculum aim (e.g. sporting activities across the partnership, UK Olympics in 2012 will be a common bond of all participants in the project. DURING EACH TRANSNATIONAL MOBILITY 10
  • 11. 2) All partner schools will - host a project meeting involving 20-30 students and about 10 staff - enable the use of IT facilities for the common delivery of information to the proposed NING - complete a 'Livre d'Or‘ as part of the on-going evaluation process. - prepare school newsletters and websites to provide pupil feedback on experiences during mobilities - prepare a report of each mobility - details of the country visited, the focus of the visit, the activities that took place and any impact or outcomes that occurred. - will provide real sources of information and data : healthy school data, careers guidance, sporting activities, photograph competition, interviews of sportsmen and women which can be used by teachers in their lessons - publish the report on the school web-site and NING site - make video diaries providing an on-going record of the project progress 11
  • 12. 3) Host families will - have an important part to play in the transnational mobilities - give the students of the different partner schools the possibility to gain experiences by living with their host for a short period of time. This experience should not be overlooked or underestimated - give their feedback in a questionnaire which will be standard for all partner schools - help build further the partnerships between schools and parents 12
