2. DR Who Dreamland
Structure
Dr Who Dreamland has been designed to be shown as on series consisting of 6 (mini) episodes. The first episode lasts about 12
mins and the other 5 last between 5-6 mins which in total is about the same length of time for a full normal Dr Who episode. It
was first broadcasted on the BBCโs red button feature, the Dr Who official website and on BBC Iplayer on November the 21st 2009.
Audience
The main target audience for the Dr Who Dreamland series are the original fans of Dr Who and sci-fi followers but by being a
comic style cartoon it also appeals to the younger children around the age of 7-8+, by styling this series in such a way the Dr Who
creators also have the opportunity to reel in a bigger and wider audience as young children who have probably not seen Dr Who
before might becoming interested because of Dr Who Dreamland and will then be enticed to watch the proper show.
Narrative
Episode 1- 13 June 1947: a UFO is trying to escape from enemy fire coming from two others, is shot down and crash lands on
Earth Near Roswell, New Mexico. Eleven years later in Dry Springs, Nevada, The TARDIS materialises at a
diner, and the Doctor meets Cassie Rice and Native American Jimmy Stalkingwolf and comes across a strange alien artefact. He
then uses his sonic
screwdriver to investigate the artefact, and accidentally activates it, upon doing so two Men in Black arrive demanding that the
artefact in question be handed over immediately. The Doctor and the others manage to escape the men in black suits and then go
off to investigate another phenomenon, a space monster which seems to insists that heโd seen nearby not long ago. The monster
turns out to be a Viperox battle-drone and is destroyed by a rocket from a USAF helicopter which arrives on the scene moments
later. The soldiers take them to Area 51 (aka Dreamland). In Dreamland, Colonel Stark locks them in a gas chamber and begins
filling it with a type of gas used to wipe peoples memory. The Doctor manages to break
free, stop the gas before any harm is done and he and the others manage to escape via a ventilation shaft. The alarm then sounds
and they run into a lab where they find a captured alien. After fleeing the guards by hiding in a lift they are re-captured at the top
of the lift shaft. Colonel Stark is revealed to be working with one of the Viperox leaders named Lord Azlok.

โข Techniques
โข The main technique that is used in this web drama, is the fact that the drama is a
complete animation series. That have many different sounds and music to set
tension and also for when they are running away from the guards in area 51
(Dreamland). They use various camera techniques such as establishing shots and
close ups and also with using tracking shots they also use different camera angles
such as low angled shots and high angle shots. Adding these makes it look like the
original TV series of Doctor Who and also gives it the edge of being an action
series.

5. Becoming Human
โข Structure- Becoming Human is a British supernatural drama webisode series and a spin-off from the TV series Being Human. Created by
Toby Whithouse, it was written by Brian Dooley, Jamie Mathieson and John Jackson) and stars Craig Roberts as the teenage vampire
Adam (previously seen on Being Human), Leila Mimmack as the werewolf Christa and Josh Brown as the ghost Matt. A composition of
the eight episodes (including the finale) was aired on BBC Three at 9:00pm on 20 March 2011.
โข Audience- the target audience of Becoming Human are the original fans of the show Being Human, people interested in the
supernatural type of show and also teenagers, the show appeals to these audience groups by including a good mixture of the
supernatural aspects with everyday life which appeals to most teenagers as they also feel like they donโt belong in the โnormalโ world so
they can relate in a way and it also appeals to their taste for the supernatural.
โข Teaser info.- Becoming Human continues the adventures of Adam, a 46-year-old vampire in the body of a 16-year old boy. Adam had
been protected by his parents up until they died of old age, following which he had come under the protection and encouragement of
Mitchell, Annie, George and Nina. As Becoming Human begins, Adam has moved elsewhere and is trying to live a normal life as a
"human". On his first day at the school, Adam manages to embarrass and ostracise himself. However, he meets another pupil, Christa,
who is hiding the fact that she is a werewolf. Christa has also been being followed by a fat, melancholy boy whom she believes is a
stalker but whom no-one else can see. Adam realises that he is a ghost. The ghost introduces himself as Matt and turns out to be a
missing student from the school. Adam quickly realises that because Matt has been murdered, and the three of them set about trying
to solve the murder. The task is made more difficult by the fact that Matt's own memories of the event are unclear. Among the suspects
Adam and his friends investigate are the school bully Danny Curtis, Brandy Mulligan and Mr Swan. Following several false leads, a major
breakthrough is made when Mr Roe lets slip to the trio that Mr Swan has ordered him to clean the same boys' toilets that Matt was
drowned in. They eventually discover that the CCTV cameras between the toilets and the gym are missing, further implicating Mr Swan
in the murder. They begin to suspect that Matt's body is hidden in the gym, because Christa can smell it the day before the full moon.
They investigate the gym the night of the full moon-when a werewolf's senses are at their peak- only for Christa to start changing. Matt
and Adam discover that they are trapped- someone locked the doors. Matt and Adam lure the transforming Christa into the gym's
supply cupboard and barricade the door. In the morning, she is released and they wonder where Matt's body could've been. They
initially fear that Christa may have eaten it during her time as a werewolf; but Matt succeeds in finally locating his body- still in the
cupboard hidden among cleaning tools.

pan, close up, wide shot, tracking shot, etc. but thatโs not all green screen
is used quite a lot as well as is props and lighting to try and tie it all
together. By being the type of show that it is it means that there are
always loads of different techniques to grab the audiences attention and
keep them on the edge of their seat.
