The Fakeer of Jungheera is a long poem
by Henry Louis Vivian Derozio. He was
born on 18th April, 1809 in Kolkata, West
Bengal.
He wrote many wonderful poems in
English before his untimely death of
which, the “Fakeer of Jungheera” was one
of the most important landmark in the
history of patriotic poetry in India.
