 Information technology is exploring the
potential for technology to redefine the terms
of teaching and learning.
 The NEW YORK INSTITUTE of
TECHNOLOGY with partnership of Nassau
and Duchess countries are creating
EDUCATIONAL ENTERPRISE ZONE.
 A vast majority of students now study in
schools and classroom with computers.
STUDENTS HAVE PROVIDED THEIR
OWN PERSONAL COMPUTERS.
 BY fall of 2001, an estimated 99 percent of public
school and 87 percent of instructional rooms had
internet connection.
 At the high school level, large majorities of public
school teachers in all fields report using computers
for instructional purposes .
 Teachers reported using computers for practicing
skills, solving problems, learning course materials,
and working collaboratively to produce multimedia
projects. Moreover they uses IT to correspond with
experts or others outside the school.
 EDUCATION is the life long process
therefore anytime anywhere access to it is the
need.
 Education should meet the needs of variety of
learners and therefore IT is important in
meeting this need.
 It is a requirement of the society that the
individuals should posses technological
literacy.

 collaborative learning
 multimedia approach to education
 authentic and up to date information
 access to online libraries
 teaching of different subjects made interesting
 educational data storage

 access to the source of information
 multiple communication channels- E-mail, chat,
blogs, etc.

various and intresting ways in short of time.
 Thus the Information Technology plays it’s
precious role in educational field. It is also covers
each and every field like business, social activities
and universal issues and information.
