2. When it Happened
• The 16th Street Baptist Church in
Birmingham, Alabama was bombed on
Sunday, September 15th, 1963 as an act of
racially motivated terrorism.

3. Damage Done
• The Bombing of the Church killed four
small girls,Addie Mae Collins, Cynthia
Wesley, Carole Robertson and Denise
McNair.
• Another 22 people were injured.

4. Assailants
• Robert Chambliss, Herman Cash,Thomas
Blanton and Bobby Cherry were charged
for this terrible crime.
• Bobby Cherry was a demolition expert, and
the whole group were white supremacists.

5. After Math
• The bombing angered much of Birmingham
which was already present in the city.
• Birmingham's Mayor said this,“It is just
sickening that a few individuals could
commit such a horrible atrocity.”
