1. Task 10 (Formal proposal)
Title of magazine
The title of my magazine I have decided is going to be called constant. I think this is a good name
because it is simple and easy to remember. The name of the magazine ‘constant’ links to the
magazine meaning constant news about the rap/ Hip Hop scene.
Choice of genre
The choice of genre for my music magazine is Rap/ Hip Hop music. There are many reasons why I
Have chosen this genre for my music magazine, one reason being that I listen to and like that
music myself . I also have my own knowledge in this genre so I have a good idea of what should
be expected in a music magazine of this genre.
My Target audience
My target audience is mainly to young females and males between the ages of 16 to 20. It is said
that Afro Caribbean boys mostly listen to Hip Hop/ Rap music in the UK however, with my
magazine I am trying to aim it at any ethnic background because it is still listened to amongst
other ethnic groups and make it as appealing as I can.
Initial ideas for Front Cover
For my front cover I am planning to have a medium close up of two artists. I want the front cover
to be colourful but not too colourful. I want the whole Hip Hop imagery to be on my front cover
as much as possible.

2. Initial ideas for My Contents page
For my contents page I want the same theme of colours used that were used on the front cover. I
am going to use bold lettering and bright colours to catch the readers eye . There will be another
image or two of artists on the contents page
Initial ideas for my article
For my double page spread I plan on having an interview with the artist featured on the front cover
talking about success in their career and future plans. The will be a medium close up of the artist
somewhere on the double page.
Initial ideas for photographs
Altogether there will be four photographs used for the front cover, contents page and double
page spread . There will be a combination of medium shots medium close ups and close ups used.
I plan to capture the imagery associated with Hip Hop in my photos.
