Customer service involves taking care of the customer’s needs in a
professional, helpful, and quality manner. Every time the company’s
staff interacts with the customers, whether in the course of making a
sale, returning a product, or just consulting over the phone, customer
service is involved.
Since customer satisfaction is an essential element to maintaining
customers and growing revenues, companies often entrench it in their
policies by training staff on it, establishing support systems for staff to
consult on improving services, and awarding great customer service
practice.
Excellent Customer Service
 Some of the characteristics of great customer service
include promptness in delivery of products or services,
politeness to every potential customer, and
professionalism even in instances where the customer
is dissatisfied with a product.
Companies can gauge the effectiveness of their
customer service by asking for feedback from their
customers. This may be in the form of phone call
surveys, open-ended questionnaires sent by mail, or
through focus groups.
