2. Shell
The shell logo is creative as it's a company
that uses fossil fuels in the modern day.
The shell symbolises the fossils and is
known shape/object associated with fossils
for people who aren’t highly educated on
unsustainable energy sources.
The colour scheme is good because of the
location that you’d find a shell petrol station.
The bright red and yellow stand out
amongst greyscaled streets and both
colours can be seen well at night.
I like this logo because of the simplicity it
works well at any size and its clear to see
what it is and it doesn’t have too much
going on making it easy for the eyes to take
in.
3. Playboy
The history of the playboy bunny is that it took 30 minutes to
come up with and draw and just like its birth the logo itself is short
and sweet. The silhouette means it can be used in any colour
against any background and this is seen as its featured on
clothes, posters and in the ever updating and changing magazine
itself. The logo itself is simple in the fact that it's a rabbit with a
bowtie. The rabbit signifies being “frisky” and “playful” as well as
being an animal known to have a natural association to
procreating more than regularly. The bow tie adds a sense of
class to the image as it's formal wear and is seen as a more
gentlemanly attire. The image as a whole says “promiscuity for
classy men”.
In my opinion it's a good logo because of how simple it is and the
endless use of it. It can go anywhere of any size and no text has
to be tied to it the logo has behind it a reputation that means it's
worth more than the nude pictures it’s famous for.
4. MTV
The mtv logo is iconic amongst the
music industry because it strayed from
what the standard logo was at the time
(1980s) back then a logo couldn’t stray
from its original design and any
changes were set in stone meaning a
change every decade was fine but
every year would make a company look
indecisive. But mtv challenged that by
changing their logo so often to match
new themes and to correlate with
events and public celebration.
In my opinion this logo is
creative because even
though its 3 letters and a bit
of negative spacing its the
way its been used to change
how and what a logo can do
that makes it iconic.
