3. Tagging explained
The method used for the tags was whiteboard pen and I came up with a few tags, such as F387 and WB
but the one that I chose in the end was 509K
The reason for this is because an associate of mine was catfished by a girl who claimed she was from
Croydon but was actually from Haiti and she said she was using her number from when she went on
holiday long story short she got found out and out of anger and distraught he said (paraphrased) “death to
her” and a slang way to wish death upon someone is to put the capital K at the end of their name so using
her area code and a death threat I came up with my street tag.
The colours I used were red green and black but the red and green weren’t as visible so I stuck to black
and kept the style fairly simple but I explored putting a line through it and placing the K behind.
5. stickers
The sticker design I made is my favourite shoe of all time which is the air max 1 I
chose this sticker because it held high appeal to me and it was aesthetically
pleasing. I chose to keep it black and white because it would fit in at majority of
places but I explored having the outlines in different colours and it wasn't as
visible.
I particularly liked doing the stickers as it gave an element of flexibility as to where
I could place it for example below the mirror in the restaurant and on the brick
wall. Stickers is definitely something I would want to make more of and would
further explore.
7. Masking tape explained
This was a response exploring legal street art. The method was to plan and
design a small version of the masking tape designs and then to recreate them in a
large form. The design my group and I created was one of the bee. I didn’t
particularly like the masking tape as it peeled and isn’t as easy as it looks, the
challenges faced are to do with the measurements and correct sizing of each
piece.
